Re: Hearing we will have multiple suspensions for Bama
Regardless of what happened, we cannot reduce ourselves to throwing punches against Memphis. Let them do the punch throwing and just take it. After all, everyone is wearing a helmet. Of course I do not know what was said in the locker room by Freeze and staff, but they should have addressed this be...

QB under center
Did anyone else notice the couple of plays (one the attempted long pass to Derrick Jones), where Bo started out under center, instead of the shotgun? I haven't seen or heard this discussed, anywhere. Thought it was interesting; particularly that neither was a 'short yardage' situation.

Vandy coaching search
I haven't heard it mentioned anywhere, but are they looking @ Kent Austin, by any chance? He's coached @ Cornell, so he understands recruiting, w/ elevated academic standards, in mind. Apparently, his spouse prefers a metropolitan area, and he's originally from Brentwood. Don't know what he's making...

Re: Defense is dying
Conspiracy?? It's not a conspiracy; it's right in your friggin' face. I didn't say their dominance was due to SEC 'tampering,' ( they are genuinely outstanding, and the 3 recent MNC's are evidence to that effect ) but if you can't see that they get the benefit of preferential calls, w/in the SEC, yo...

Re: Defense is dying
No wonder Slive & the SEC office want Bama in the BCS title game – they don't show up, otherwise. And Kouandjio was holding like a big dog, on the forced fumble. Couldn't happen to a better coach, team, and fanbase. I'm all for the SEC, but seeing that team lose, in a situation where the Birming...

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-01-02/nfl-playoff-games-threatened-by-local-tv-blackout-in-first-round.html It's not just the Packers; my point was related to the trends . Yes, there are probably too many bowls, but I'm not ashamed to say that I was glad that Ole Miss went, last year, as a 6-6 t...

Re: U know things are tough
Your point is valid, Jim; we are definitely playing w/ the "Big Boys." Don't think our (current) coach & players would have it any other way. I'm counting on that 17th avg to rise, fairly rapidly, w/ CHF & Co.

Re: Goodbye BCS......
The Iron Bowl wasn't on a neutral field. Big difference. If they were to play 10 times, bama would win the majority of them. Bye bye BCS and good riddance. Maybe so, maybe no. That's what I call purely speculative . The simple fact is, the Tide had their shot, on the Plains, and lost . Even on a 'n...

Legitimate question
I know this is an "Ole Miss Site," but given that our 2013 F/B season is now complete, why not branch out, a little? As it relates exclusively to on-the-field/gameday decision-making, how good of a coach is Saban? Obviously, he's hands-down the best recruiter in the country, IMO. I think t...

Re: Goodbye BCS......
It is definitely ESPN driven. If you prefer the NFL over college you will like this. If you prefer the magic of college football IMO you will ultimately rue this day. Especially since it allows non conference champions in. For instance this year Bama would certainly be in the four, which would make...

Re: Goodbye BCS......
Ah, yes - the ol' "on-the-field" argument – Was not the Iron Bowl on the field ? Are not September games on the field ? Is not the BCS title game on the field ? One huge reason for the "horrible" match-ups is because the non-SEC teams have been so weak, relatively, and got there ...

Re: I'm glad Ritter is gone.
Dude is tall. Other dude is short. Don't miss a thing, do ya. I tell ya, I'm just really glad that our internal 'squabbles' are w/ regard to the other team's players' relative heights!! That, to me, is so much better fodder, for that type of 'discussion,' rather than which Rebel should bear ...

Re: SEC dominating
Yep, from what I saw, Mason wasn't the (deciding) difference, for Georgia. LSU, USCe, and even Miss State have acquitted themselves, nicely. Gotta think 'Bama should handle Oklahoma, Vandy should have a real good shot against Houston; but does that 'magic horseshoe' locked up Gus' & AU's nether ...

Personally, I don't think the GT OL had posession, and it may sound a bit crazy, but @ the time, I was actually preferring the 2 pts + the ball. I didn't want Tech to have an opportunity to re-establish any momentum. It's all academic, @ this point, anyway. Any thoughts?

Re: I'm glad Ritter is gone.
I guess I can kinda understand, getting caught up in the moment, and he certainly had a bad game, but I do not recall him costing us a game ( admittedly, that could be just 'dumb luck,' but I'll take it ), and the fact that we didn't have to spend a scholly on a kicker, last year, was significant, I...
