D. T. Shackleford

After his impressive play in the Music City Bowl, I gotta say that D.T. Shackleford deserves a lot of respect. On the field & off. I hope he continues to be the overachiever & hard worker he seems to be. I hope we get 6th year eligibility approved, because it would be so good for him & a...

Re: Defense is dying

To say that Bamas dominance comes from the SEC offices is very Starkville. It is also very true. I really enjoyed seeing Bama's long "touchdown" called back for a block in the back. That's actually a signature of Saban's special teams & is almost never called against them in the SEC. ...

Line 'em up as tailbacks in a modified single-wing or box & let the defense try to figure out which one of 'em gets the snap! LOL!

Re: Ole Miss Auburn Prediction

But you have to have the Bama talent and roster depth to do it. AU, TAMU and Lsux do not have their defense. Alabama has mediocre corners. Bo himself said that. What the Saban/Siskey coaching clinic showed was a simple way to box the edges & force Scott into the middle. In the middle, Bama did ...

Re: forecast for Auburn

the forecast for Auburn on Saturday is Sunny and 78 degrees at 6:00 pm and partly cloudy and 70 degrees at 10:00 pm. Winds should be about 9 mph. No inclement weather is expected before Sunday. I was relieved this morning when I saw NHC had slowed TS Karen down a bunch (nearly 12 hours). I was a bi...

Re: Ole Miss Auburn Prediction

I had this game as a coin flip, but in light of today's unneeded media distraction, I've changed it to Auburn by 7. We may have talent, but it is extremely immature talent. And it is now distracted and immature. EDIT: Given current weather forecasts, this may not be a game where it matters if Bo can...

Re: Ole Miss Auburn Prediction

Flip a coin, but if the Auburnoids don't win the flip, flip again. It's dead even in my book & they have home field.

Re: A little on the game and on Siskey

Re: Siskey. Although the NCAA limits coaches on the field, teams like Bama have essentially unlimited resources to hire off-field staff to do exactly what Siskey did. I'm surprised by now that there isn't a cadre of disgruntled ex-assistant coaches hawking their know-how to the highest bidder. Perha...

Re: Alabama prediction thread

It is absolutely essential that the Rebels realize that the SEC officials are not there to call a fair game. They are there to ensure that Oregon does not become the #1 team in the country. Anyone who doubts this needs to review the LSU-Ole Miss game of November 21, 2009. I'm calling the final score...

Re: guess who

That was a good read. LOVE the facemask Nkemdiche wears. Dude looks like a monster!! He probably learned about age 12 that blockers were gonna facemask him. With a grille like that, grabbing it is not easy and likely to be a more or less permanent attachment. Either that or it's a muzzle to keep hi...

Re: Big IFs for the W!

I just have this feeling that if we score more points than Alabama, we will beat them.... Now see, that's where u fall into their trap. U aren't taking into consideration how many of our points the refs take away, or how many points the refs give them. When playing bama, these things ALWAYS need to...

Re: As the new uni craze spreads, Maryland unveil new pride

Those helmets are uglier than bowling shoes! (I gotta admit, though, that the "tortoise-shell" paint underneath all that gaudy harlequin stuff might make a very trick helmet, not quite total traditional but something like Cincinnati Bengals...)

Re: Ap poll pre/post Alabama game

If the Rebs beat Bama -- and it is not impossible -- I could see them bumping up to 11 or 12 in the polls. Hang tough & lose by the same sort of margin as A&M did, and the Rebs maintain in the mid-teens. Lose honorably & they may stay ranked. But seriously, polls are meaningless at this ...
