Re: Auburn
Totally agree that the handwriting is on the wall with McArthur as the Sunday starter. Probably should have started this past Sunday. Sean Johnson has not recovered from Tommy John surgery fully. Not his fault.

Re: Auburn
I think State should host also. Actually, the SEC deserves six host spots considering the quality of the teams at the top. They may not want to do that, of course. But OM is still in the hunt for the fifth host spot.

Re: Auburn
What's more important than our RPI, which is Top Five right now, is winning the LSU series and having a tie-breaker over them should the committee have to choose between us for a fifth host spot.

Re: Auburn
31-10, 10-8 in SEC. We are now tied with several other teams at 10-8 and looking for a host spot: LSU, Vandy and Kentucky. We control our own destiny in that we face LSU and Kentucky at home and don't play Vandy. Wins against LSU and Kentucky will narrow the field and make it easier for the committe...

Re: Auburn
7-4 final, Rebs. Now 9-8 in SEC play. Huge game tomorrow for the sweep. Staying above .500 in SEC play keeps OM in hosting conversation. Both Kentucky and Georgia are opportunities to pad the SEC record. We just take our chances against LSU, which is inconsistent, and A & M. At 30-10, we still h...

Re: Bama
Yep. It's frustrating, but we still have a great shot at hosting. Coming up are five winnable games: Murray State, Memphis State and three against Auburn. We did not take a big hit losing 2 of 3 at Tuscaloosa. Our RPI is 6 and our SOS is 7. Meanwhile, the SEC continues to cannibalize itself. State g...

Re: Bama
RPI and SOS remain steady at 5 and 3. Who's above us? Florida, Miami, South Carolina and Louisville. So those who wanted to jump ship after the South Carolina series should take note: we're right there among the elite as of today's game. Need to keep on grinding away.

Re: Bama
Team hanging tough in a pitcher's duel. Chance to take this series, then sweep Murray State and Auburn at home. This team is still in the hunt for both a regional and national seed. Keep the bats alive and the pitching will see us through.

No, we've swept Arkansas before. This was the first sweep ever at Swayze Field. We've swept them in Fayetteville before.

Pull for Florida. We don't play them. Let them do the damage to State and bring them back to the pack.

Yeah. I'm surprised that Erroll has gotten picked off, since he's so fast. Gotta shore that up all-around.lewindha wrote:Seems like we're getting picked off and thrown out stealing alot also. Errol caught twice against Southern. Gotta fix the base running mistakes.

Re: Arky Series Huge/Latest RPI Surge
Baseball is all about getting hot at the right time. We've had a great start to the season, evidenced by our high RPI, and it seems like we've done it without playing our best baseball. We've pitched fairly well in every game, but some games we haven't hit and some we haven't fielded particularly w...

Arky Series Huge/Latest RPI Surge
As a result of Wednesday's games, Ole Miss moved into the #4 RPI slot, along with the #5 SOS. This was due to teams we have beaten continuing to win, such as Tennessee and SEMO. We are now 9-7 against teams with Top 50 RPI's. A series sweep would put us in a very strong spot going into the second ha...

Re: NCAA Official RPI's Came Out Today
We don't have any bad losses, actually. The reason State is ranked anywhere from 26 to 28 in various RPI metrics is that they have several bad losses to teams in the 150 to 200+ range, and those teams keep losing. Arkansas's RPI metrics are in the 128-129 range, so losing a series to them would be r...

Here are some rankings of interest, since these are the ones the committee will look at. 1. Florida 3. South Carolina 5. Louisville 7. Ole Miss 11. A & M 13. Southern 14. Vandy 16. Coastal Carolina 20. LSU 25. Kentucky ------------------ After tonight's games, here are Warren Nolan's rankings (R...
