Dear Abby.... Live from Neyland Stadium

Dear Abby,

I'm a fan and alumni of a premier University. I'm sitting at Neyland Stadium with my 6 yr old son, and the experience is quite traumatic on him. He keeps looking at the scoreboard saying, "I don't think we're going to win daddy". Our special teams is only "special" the same way as those kids that ride the short bus yo school. Our defense is near the bottom of our conference, and to make matters worse, Jevan Snead has stolen Masoli's jersey and is bounce-passing balls on Saturday....again!

At this point any advice or comforting words would help!

Dear Rebel Fan,

I got nothing for ya.

Sincerely,

Abby

p.s...buy your son a Happy Meal on the way home and all will be right with the world again.

I am a lifelong Ole Miss fan exiled to Knoxville for the past 20 years. Was watching the game in the skybox with my UT buddies....a long, long afternoon. Nutt never met a team he couldn't kill; especially a quarterback. However, the real problem is that we have never, ever, had enough depth and speed in our secondary. Unless and until we can successfully recruit a lot of fast db's, we're always going to be mediocre SEC team at best. That's all there is to it.

Thanks for all the advise! Bought the happy meal, and my 6 yr old son offered more words of encouragement: "Daddy, next time Ole Miss plays the orange team, we already know who's gonna win, right?" I think he finally gets it!
