OXFORD, Miss. – Allen Scott Jerome, 43, of McHenry, Mississippi, an offensive lineman at Ole Miss from 1989 to 1993, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Stone County Hospital in Wiggins, Mississippi.

Jerome’s funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 14 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, located at 76 Highway 51 South in Brookhaven. Interment will be at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Wesson. Visitation will be from 5 p.m to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 13 at Riverwood.

A native of Wesson, Jerome was born August 4, 1971 to Percy “Ikey” Jerome and Bobbie Nell Keys Jerome. He was Coastal Services Director with the Mississippi State Rating Bureau and a member of McHenry First Baptist Church where he was youth director. He also coached youth sports in Wesson and McHenry.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, J.B. Keys and Elizabeth Keys Furlow and Frances Patrick Jerome and Emma Klaas Jerome.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Jordan Jerome; parents, Ikey and Bobbie Nell Jerome; mother-in-law, Karol Myers Fountain; father-in-law, Keith Fountain and father-in-law Al Jordan. He is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Jerome, a 1994 graduate of the University of Mississippi, was a member of the Ole Miss M-Club. He was part of the 1989 football signing class, which also included the late Chucky Mullins. Jerome and Mullins were both redshirted during their true freshman season.

During his five-year career playing for Coach Billy Brewer, Jerome was a member of teams which played in three bowl games -- two Liberty Bowls and a Gator Bowl. Plagued by injuries during his career, Jerome lettered his senior season.

A 1989 graduate of Wesson High School, Jerome was rated as the best all-around athlete in Copiah County, earning All-District, All-Mid-South Conference and All-Copiah County honors. He earned three letters in football, four in baseball and three in basketball, while also earning All-Conference and All-District recognition in baseball.

An honor roll student with 3.5 GPA, Jerome played quarterback and tight end through his sophomore prep season, but was switched to offensive tackle in 11th grade. He was coached in high school by Ricky Clopton.
