Opener at Knoxville with UT finds the Vols with 11-5 record overall. Their RPI is #65. We are #3. The Vols have a 2-1 record against teams with a Top 50 RPI. They are 1-2 against teams with RPI between 50 and 100. They are the best team we've faced since Louisville. However, their top hitter and overall best player (can't recall his name) is out for the season with an injury this week. Although road sweeps in the SEC are hard to come by, I do think this team is capable. However, taking care of business and taking the series will keep us on track for what could be another Omaha season.

Note: Weather forecast calls for a chilly series (in the '50's and low '60's.) Tonight's game will be clear. Saturday calls for showers all day. Scattered showers on Sunday.

Bramlett was excellent tonight, we just couldn't find the timely hits. UT did in the bottom of the 9th after their first two hitters struck out. A double followed by a single ended the game for the Vols. Short had not given up a 2 out hit all year until tonight in the 9th.

Two thoughts: sloppy fielding continues to crop up. Cost us a game tonight. The other thought is that Bramlett was left in too long. Spoiled a great pitching effort on his part. Hope we can put this behind us and go on to win the series.

Nice bounce back win with some great fielding saving the day. Rebs even the series with a 6-4 score. On to Sunday to try for the series win.

Caught the last couple of innings on the radio. Sounded like it was getting a little chippy up there.

That's a big time series win on the road after dropping Friday's game. Got a big one coming up this weekend with SC starting Thursday night.
