From another board on recruiting

I listened to Keith Easterwood on Tuesday. Easterwood will be up front about it. And he said that Addidas and Under Armor are the most aggressive right now in placing players with "their" coaches. If Howland wanted a player, Under Armor would do what it took to get the kid to sign with State. Keith said they would deliver 30k in cash and fill his garage with apparel if he signed with State. This was on the Geoff Caulkins and Gary Parrish radio show out of Memphis. I was shocked at how matter of fact he was with the information like it was just the normal thing to do. There is so much that goes into basketball recruiting, and the shoe companies are part of it. No one who has a shot at the NBA goes for free, and even some who don't have a shot get something.
