we were walking back to the car after the game, and i saw a guy sitting in the back of a pickup with a Tech shirt on, and i said, that guy looks like the guy on Friday night lights. well I checked out the bio on Brad Leland who plays "Buddy Garrity" on Friday Night Lights:

"

Leland was born in Lubbock, Texas, but moved to Plano during his sophomore year in high school. While in Plano, Leland played football for Plano High School. He sustained a serious knee injury the year the Wildcats won the 1971 AAA State Championship.

In 1980, Leland graduated from Texas Tech with a bachelor’s degree in acting and directing.[1]

Probably was him. They tape here in Austin and you see the cast around town quite often. I have seen the guy that plays Landry at a local restaurant a few times.

And all the spots in the show are very recognizable if you live in Austin....they didn't change the name of the strip club "The Landing Strip", which you pass by going to the airport.

That's knowing where your local cultural centers are right there.
You've just got to learn from the wrong things you've done. I came off the rebound, started looking around, figured out it's time to have a little fun.

And, not only do all of those actors spend a lot of time here in Austin, but she is dating Derek Jeter, who also spends a lot of time here. One of the men on the local AM sportstalk station said he saw both of them at a fitness center in downtown Austin.

The show, when at the school or field, is filmed at Pflugerville H.S. in Northeast Austin.

I noticed that too!!! I thought it was quite funny. I wonder if the Landing Strip paid for that plug.

Also, my wife saw "Smash" Williams at her place of business.

The "Landing Strip" was also in Varsity Blues.....looks like not so savory a place...I have only seen it from the road coming from the airport.
