(W)Sept. 5, 2009 at Memphis

The Rebels finally get back on the field after 8 long months. Memphis comes out being tougher than usual, with our offense stalling for most of the first half (mainly our O-Line). After coming out from halftime with a 10-0 lead, our offense gets more comfortable in the second half to take over and secure a 34-10 victory.

(W)Sept. 19, 2009 SE Lousiana

Once again, our offensive line keeps the game close, as ESPN analysts bite their nails with the thought of us being overated by them. SE Louisiana will be worn down by the 3rd quarter, and we take the W 38-7.

(L) Sept. 24, 2009 at South Carolina (Thurs ESPN)

As our O-line gets more occustomed to the game, we take a mid-week trip up to Columbia to go against a team that had an incredible defense last year. SCar takes an early 14-0 lead, and we never recover. We lose 34-21

(W)Oct. 3, 2009 at Vanderbilt

After coming off of the bitter disappointment of the SCar game, the Rebels look to take revenge on the Commodores. Even though the team will be fired up, they will struggle to find an identity early, and Jevan will have to make a 4th quarter comeback to take the victory, 24-20.

(L)Oct. 10, 2009 Alabama

Even though the season has been mildly disappointing so far, every fan in Oxford will be incredibly fired up for this one. ESPN Gameday will be in the Grove for the fist time, and the atmosphere will be electric. This will be a defensive struggle, and Alabama will beat us in another heartbreaker 13-7.

(W)Oct. 17, 2009 UAB

The team will still be recovering from the tough Alabama loss and being booted out of the top 25. UAB will present a challenge early, but Ole Miss will overcome 35-17.

(W)Oct. 24, 2009 Arkansas

Arkansas will be a hot team coming into this one, and all fans will be pumped up because of Arkansas fans' hatrid of Houston Nutt, and Ole Miss fans' annoyance of Arkansas fans. Arkansas defense will be beat up all throughout the game, and Ole Miss's fast linebackers and great pass-rushing D-Line will dominate this game. Ole Miss wins in a landslide, 45-10.

(W)Oct. 31, 2009 at Auburn

With the momentum from the Arkansas game, the Rebels will have an easier than normal time with Auburn. Their spread offense won't be able to do anything against Ole Miss's dominant defense. W 27-3

(W)Nov. 7, 2009 Northern Arizona

Trap game maybe, but Houston will keep the players energized and cruise to a 45-0 win.

(W)Nov. 14, 2009 Tennessee

Finally back in to the top 25 rankings, Ole Miss will be playing Lane Kiffin's team on national TV. Orgeron will be incredibly pumped for this game, and O's and Monte Kiffin's defense will shut down the Ole Miss offense. Ole Miss's defense, however will destroy the Tennessee offense and Ole Miss wins 20-7.

(L)Nov. 21, 2009 LSU

Eerily similar to the 2003 game. LSU's defense will be greatly improved thanks to Chavis. Their offense will be improved with an experienced Jordan Jefferson under center. LSU wins in OT, 26-23.

(W)Nov. 28, 2009 at Miss. State

Mullen will have the Bulldogs pumped to play spoiler, but there won't be any substance on either side of the Mississippi State team. Ole Miss wins 30-0.

My prediction: 9-3(5-3). Post yours.

I don't see South Carolina beating Nutt 2 years in a row. I watched their spring game online and they still have a hard time stopping the run which is something Ole Miss will be good at on both sides and their QB play is inconsistant. SC also has been struggling early in the year lately.

Bama will have to make strides at QB as well as LSU. Bama was so good b/c of JPW. I'd say out of those 3 losses you predict they are very loseable as well as Tennesse but if the defense particularly secondary steps up as well as Snead and you can at least break even in turnovers I think the rebs win all of them. Nutt has never had a defense like he has now and it's b/c Arkansas as a state has pitiful highschool football.

10-2

I see 10-2 (6-2), as well, with losses coming on the road @SC and @Aub. I may change my verdict closer to the season, though, as more info about the other teams gets out.

(W)Sept. 5, 2009 at Memphis

I bet this game looks a lot like Texas Tech, but nastier. We start off looking unprepared, and the Jorts might very well snag a touchdown and/or a couple of field goals before we get on our feet and put a couple of players on their sidelines. The rest will be downhill. I will be remarkably disappointed by the start of the season if we do not hang more than 40 on them, so I'll say that we will.

45-10.

(W)Sept. 19, 2009 SE Lousiana

Despite previous predictions, I really do think that our O-line will be on target. I think, instead, that our worries will come from a place we weren't expecting, I don't now where yet. Either way, this better not be the game that we find out. Once again, if we don't hang 40 (at least one from Nate Stanley) then i will be very upset.

52-7

(W) Sept. 24, 2009 at South Carolina (Thurs ESPN)

Bobby Massie shows in this ESPN showdown why Nick Saban was soooo mad when he lost him, and our O-line dominates a South Carolina team with the same problem as years past. We win this when Jevan puts up a heisman candidate game, clutch when he has to be clutch, unselfish when he knows that Bolden can break for a big one, and quick on his feet. This game will look much like a Wake Forest of 2008, but we will own it, and come out on top. I say we take the lead early and don't lose it until early in the 4th quarter (one final Spurrier breath), then we hold steady and pull it out. The Garnet and Black in the stands will be stunned.

24-14

(W)Oct. 3, 2009 at Vanderbilt

Why do we always suck against Vandy? I dunno. What I do know is that this isn't the Bowl-bound team of last year. We win this, but hardly.

14-10

(L)Oct. 10, 2009 Alabama

As much as I'd like to see this win in Oxford, I just don't see it happening, I'd love to write more about it, but my heart is being crushed just thinking about another close one plagued by sad illegal calls and some other terrible misfortunes. It hurts to write this...but...

17-21

(W)Oct. 17, 2009 UAB

I'm taking the opposite approach of Curly, with this one. No longer will this team think that they are invincible, and we go into this with Mouse Trap written all over it. Rebels win it.

34-10

(W)Oct. 24, 2009 Arkansas

I am hesitant to think that we will win big, solely because I've almost come to believe some hogwash, but half of these players are petrino's players now, and I think the fans are the only one's who believe that Houston Nutt is the devil incarnate. We win this handily, and maybe (maybe?) some of the 'backs start realizing that they could have been wrong about the guy.

28-7

(W)Oct. 31, 2009 at Auburn

Two words. Gene Chizik.

21-3

(W)Nov. 7, 2009 Northern Arizona

Other than the day that I show up, I'm going to pretend that this game doesn't exist. Just assume that we win and they don't score.

Thanks a lot PETE!

(W)Nov. 14, 2009 Tennessee

I think everyone will have figured out by now why Lane Kiffin didn't last very long in the NFL, and this Pete Carroll Posse will be acknowledged as what they are: second rate, pac-10, assistants. That being said, Monte has got some cajones, so count the defense in. We'll score 14 or so, but it doesn't matter if they don't score at all.

14-0

(L)Nov. 21, 2009 LSU

I've been waking up each and every day since the day after our blowout in death valley, wondering when I will get the karma that is certainly coming to me, after screaming the hotty toddy in the student section and drunkenly breaking up parties all along Brightside Drive afterward.

I think this will be it.

Last minute kitty field goal, and I'll never hear the end of it.

21-24

(W)Nov. 28, 2009 at Miss. State

I wouldn't be surprised if the bulldogs go 0-8 in the SEC next year. This team has not done enough to fix the problems that they had last year, and by now, I think we'll find out that the SEC coaching hires of last year were failures at best.

We win this.

35-6

My prediction: 10-2. (6-2) On to the BCS, and hopefully Atlanta.

At Memphis: W, As many of you have said, memphis comes into this game fired up. We have some early offensive problems only because of the o-line but we end the first half up 13-3. Our d takes over 2nd half and our offense gets rolling and we win 34-10.

Se Louisiana: W, We come into our first homegame a little rusty because of the dumb early season offweek, we shut this team down and our runninggame gets 300 yards in a easy 45-10 win.

At USC: W, This game is a doozy and hard to predict. The turnover bug shows itself early in this game but in a act of faith we get under control and score 14 in the first half and lead 14-7. The 2nd half is a defensive showdown but we pull away late to win 21-6.

at Vandy: W, Vandy isn't afraid of us and we know it all to well and thats why this game will be tough. We trail at half for first time this season but come back to take the game 27-21.

Alabama:W, THis game is hard to predict because bama always gets the calls and turnovers to go their way BUT....the past decade we have had some success beating bama in oxford and we are fired up for this one and play a flawless game defensively and we win 24-17.

UAB:W, we come into this game a little cocky from our brand new top 5 ranking and bcs hopes, we let uab score in the first half but come to our senses and win big 38-14.

ARK:W, Ark is fired up for this one but again their defense wont stop our offense and we win 31-10.

At Auburn:L, THis game on the plains is always tough for us and auburn reminds us that we still have to go play football, we lose 24-17.

Northern Arizona: W, 51-0

Ut:W, we show orgeron why we despise his coaching ability so much and kiffin shoots his mouth off before this one and fires us up. we win 38-17.

LSU: W, With a win in this game we clinch the west and we finally...FINALLY pull this one out and win a close one 28-21 over a 1 loss tiger team.

At MSU:W, We come out to a fired up state team that has nothing to lose and we are stagnant from our west clinching win the week before. Our d and talent alone win this for us 34-14.

11-1 (7-1) sec and atlanta baby!

7-5. SEC schedule is brutal. Automatic losses to Alabama and LSU. Three more SEC foes will get us too.

... um... I thought this was one of our more vanilla SEC schedules, actually. I mean, we play in the SEC--every SEC schedule's gonna be tough. But we get Bama (changing to an unproven QB), Ark (changing to an unproven QB in SEC play and still transitioning to a new coach), Tenn (down and getting downer with kids dropping out of that program left and right, changing to an unproven QB, and transitioning to a new coach) and LSU (changing to an unproven QB) all at home. Arguably our toughest game is on the road Thursday night @SC, and that's a toss-up. @Aub is a toss-up, as well, because (surprise surprise) they have QB issues and a new coach, too. Now, I'm not saying we'll win all those. But 7-5? Srsly?? At the very worst, we should be 8-4 again.
