Good practice today, there was a lot of energy and some hard hitting.

Patrick Trahan will be a All-American and will be a first round draft pick. Count on it.
The kid is 6'3 225, runs a 4.4 and has a 40' vertical. The kid is good.

Andrew Harris is fine despite reports that he had an injury on Friday. I wasn’t there Friday but he didn’t look to be in any pain today. In fact I’d say he had his best day of spring ball. He had some really nice catches and looked like an SEC receiver. I think this kid has a huge upside.

Sadly I can’t say the same for Lionel Breaux and Markeith Summers. They looked mediocre at best and its becoming more obvious that we miss Wallace’s speed. Im worried that they won’t step up like people have hoped.

Come next fall we may have the best defensive unit in the nation, ar none. They’re having fun out there and it shows. The defensive side line was chanting “lets go defense.....lets get defense” and it got the guys on the field pumped up.

Stanley looked pretty good today, showed touch and made some good decisions throwing into tight windows.

Mark Jean-Louis is terrible. Im referring to his snapping. It’s atrocious. It wasn’t uncommon for the ball to sail 5 feet over the QB’s head, or to the left, or to the right....or too low. Seriously this guy needs to improve.

Today was probably the first day Cordera has stood out to me. On a few runs he showed some real attitude and just would not go down. Maybe coach D. Nix lit a fire under his butt. I like to see different backs stepping up, we’re going to have good quality depth at RB this year.

Fon Ingram played well, Kendrick Lewis and Marshay Green played great as always. Julian Whitehead had a nice pick from Stanley. Rivers had a bat down at the line. Derrick Herman played well and had a good hit on A. Harris (which he held onto the ball).

Good intensity today, the offense had its moments but the defense continues to dominate

Practice again tomorrow at 5:30am

I shouldn't even say it, but I'm almost afraid we have too many great backs. That sounds really stupid, but my fear is that we won't let anybody get in their 180 yard groove before we take him him out and try another one.

you are right, we've got some studs. It will be intresting to see it play out. I wouldn't be suprised to see Bolden, Thomas, Davis--in that order on the d-chart.

Remember our head coach introduced D-mac and Felix to the world. RBs will be at a premium for a while.

I keep hearing all of these good reports about Stanley, but seem to not hear about Snead having many good practices. How would you say Snead has performed so far in practice? It doesn't sound like he's had a great Spring.

I think we've just talked less about him because he's the obvious starter.

It's been a long time since that's been the case.

I agree. And he's also going up against the number one defensive line in the nation during practices, which could account for some interceptions and mistakes.

Snead is fine and is going to be great for us next season.

I agree. I've been less than moved by any of the comentary regarding how Snead's spring has gone. I think regarding the entire team I've heard about his Spring the least and what I have heard is unimpressive. I'm actually worn out on hearing about Stanley to be frank. I mean is Stanley starting for us on Saturdays now or have I made my point?

I guess you would be right if Jevan was actually going up against the first string Defense... If you dropped by a few more practices you would see that the 1's always go up against the 2's. Thanks for the comment though.

????

I guess I can understand that logic behind why we aren't hearing as much about Snead. At the same time though, sometimes I worry that we are overhyping how he will do this year. I think there is a chance for him to struggle the first half of the season against USC and BAMA while the O-line still works itself out.

Last year we weren't hearing much about Snead in practice either.

Why in the world do you put 1 against 2? That makes no sense. Well, for the 2s it's good, but the 1s should be playing against the best they have available.

I have never for the life of me understood why you put 1 against 2 rather than 1 against 1. Someone help me here...please???

You don't want 1 to hurt 1 in spring practice.

That would suck.

That's the only argument I've ever heard, but 2 can hurt 1 as well, so I don't buy it. Anyone can get hurt no matter who they play. I also think if you played 1 vs 1 every other year and 1 vs 2 in the other years you'd more than likely see the same injury rate for every year...or very close anyway.

Maybe it gives a chance for second string teams to show their value, and maybe move up to first team?
