Well, we're underway. Tom Brokaw threw out the first pitch...and me without my camera.

So far a grounder ate up Miller at 3rd and the throw to first was wild, so an error puts the first Dawgs at 2nd with no outs.

Still 2-2 in the top of the 7th. Starting pitchers still with us. We loaded the bases in the bottom of the 6th with 2 outs, but Mort grounded out. They have 6 hits and we have 3 so far.

Trouble brewing for in top of 7th as a single followed by a sacrifice bunt which sent the baserunner over to 2nd. One out now though. Goforth in to replace Pomeranz. #2 and #3 batters in UGA lineup now coming up, so Goforth will have to go carefully here.

Well, here is what happened. (1) May at bat. 1 ball and 2 strike count right now. May flies out, but the runner advances to third. So, two out now and (2) next comes up Poythress who had 20 homeruns so far this year. Good move as Poythress is intentionally walked. (3) Next is Massanari with 2 outs and 2 on 1st and 3rd. Come on Goforth!!! We need this one. Well, 3 balls and 1 strike count--don't like to get behind a hitter like that. Hold your breath. STRIKE TWO---YEAH!! Oh well, bases now loaded due to a walk. (4) Lewis now at bat. HOMERUN. UGA now leads 6-2

A grandslam beats us in the top of the 7th. We could not respond in the bottom of the 7th. That is why Georgia is the best in the SEC and the nation. Coming in here and beating us on a Friday night and doing it late in a tie game is pretty amazing. Gotta tip your hat to them.

Maybe we can get em tomorrow or at least avoid the sweep. This basically kicks us out of the West race unless we can win the Auburn series on the road and sweep the puppies. Can't count on a series win at Arkansas. :?

6-3 final. Tom Brokaw threw out the first pitch. We shot fireworks at the beginning of the game. We had over 9,000 people in OU Stadium. Typical big game performance from the Rebels.

Yep. We choked in the bottom of the 9th. We had the top of the line-up there to get on and score runs and noone got even a hit.

FWIW, walking Poythress was the correct move at the time in the 7th. Of course hindsight is 20/20 and he ended up being a run. If you pitch him you might get out of the 7th still tied, but going into the move to walk him, it was just the right move to make at the time. No one could have predicted a walk and grand slam would follow.
