A local radio guy in Austin (Mike Rosenthal) who used to play OL in the NFL is adamant that Ole Miss is a pretender...he also hates on Eli at every chance he gets, so he may have some personal issues
Then today I am watching the CBS college preview (expecting Brando to dog us) and Tony Barnhart labeled Ole Miss as the most likely disappointment in college football. He said he just can't see us winning the West. Now picking someone else is one thing, but not even acknowledging the possibility when we have far and away the most proven offensive players returning kind of ticked me off. The entire panel seemed to indicate that FL, GA, LSU and Bama would be the top four SEC teams...
I can't wait for HDN and his boys to cram that crow down these guys' collective throats!

Bring it on. Ranked #10 and still the underdog. I like that. Just.....bring it on!!
Rule #1.......Don't panik
The only reason anyone in saying that is that our most unproven position is arguably the most important other than QB, LT. It has nothing to do with the coaching, or the past or anything else. Nutt didn't inherit the same quality of offensive line depth for year 2 that he left at Arkansas.Rebchuck18 wrote:A local radio guy in Austin (Mike Rosenthal) who used to play OL in the NFL is adamant that Ole Miss is a pretender...he also hates on Eli at every chance he gets, so he may have some personal issues

If that were what they said, I would be okay with it, but it wasn't (in either case)..you had to see them and hear them. They were saying we couldn't do it because we are Ole Miss and not ready for the challenge.fis wrote:The only reason anyone in saying that is that our most unproven position is arguably the most important other than QB, LT. Does the guy not know that we have a 6 game winning streak?Rebchuck18 wrote:If that were what they said, I would be okay with it, but it wasn't (in either case)..you had to see them and hear them. You've just got to learn from the wrong things you've done. I came off the rebound, started looking around, figured out it's time to have a little fun.

This guy is just the kind of idiot that only goes on past history but refuses to come down and see our rebs practice to see just how great they are. No worries on this one, when we open the season on espn and dominate memphis we will show the world why we are one of the best teams. Guys like this don't look at the facts. Espn is one of the formost experts on college sports and every employee they have that has taken the time to watch our team in practice has left very impressed by our team. Our defense is so dominant that they are dominating one of the best offenses in the country week in week out. Our defense is so good that even if our offense has 6 turnovers and manages only 200 yards in a game we will still win by double digits from our defensive touchdowns. Another point I wanna make is how good our freshmen are. Patrick Patterson will win freshmen of the year in the sec no doubt. Patterson was a highly regarded wr coming out of hs last year and the only reason why he wasn't a 5 star recruit is because he comes from mississippi. Patterson has been hauling in impressive catches against our first team d! All haters beware: our rebs are going to make your hating seem very silly when we are all buying tickets to atlanta!

We have enough respect coming into the season. Hopefully, the teams' performance will address the vast majority in the coming season.Rebchuck18 wrote:Exactly 8)parrotreb wrote:Does the guy not know that we have a 6 game winning streak?Rebchuck18 wrote: If that were what they said, I would be okay with it, but it wasn't (in either case)..you had to see them and hear them. IF the team does what it needs to do and takes care of all that it can, without significant injuries, we'll be okay. If not, we are Ole Miss.

Chuck how stupid is that arguement? it sounds like someone is teasing you a bit for a reaction. These current players or coaches have nothing to do with what has happend at Ole Miss in the past, except the last couple years. Do they think the stadium is cursed or something? I wouldn't worry too much about what people are saying when they say stuff that doesn't make logical sense.Rebchuck18 wrote:If that were what they said, I would be okay with it, but it wasn't (in either case)..you had to see them and hear them. I am not worried...far from it.fis wrote:Chuck how stupid is that arguement? it sounds like someone is teasing you a bit for a reaction. I love it when we are underestimated. That is why I am glad that we are ranked behind Bama and LSU in the Coach's poll.
HDN will eat this stuff up!

considering that these things are being said even with what we did last year, I doubt a beatdown of Memphis is going to change their minds. They will be singing a different tune, though, when we come off back-to-back-to-back wins over SC, Vandy & Alabama & are then 5 - 0.jrebel87 wrote:No worries on this one, when we open the season on espn and dominate memphis we will show the world why we are one of the best teams.
