Can someone shed some light on Hardy's injury early in the game. Why did they put him back in when he was clearly limping and not very effective? I would have the guy in a glass bubble until the SC game......

Not very effective? He remained disruptive and whether he caused the fumble or not he recovered it. I do not question the coaches' decision to put him back in. Obviously it was felt he could play and contribute.

I don't think he had a single tackle after the injury. And we are supposedly deep at DL. I was just curious that he was in there even after the game was well in hand. Seems like they could use him in pass rush situations only. I would just hate to see him re aggravate one of his nagging injuries on a silly play against some directional school.....its a long grind to Atlanta.

On the flip side of that argument, I probably would not have taken JS out of the game at the end. I would have had him throwing hard downfield on every play to keep his groove going once he starting playing well. He looked like he needed the work....

They definitely needed Stanley to get some snaps. Jevan will be fine and we saw that Stanley looked like a "deer in headlights" when he dropped back to pass. I was thrilled to see Enrique bust that run... Stanley made me nervous. God forbid! But if Jevan gets hurt we need someone with some snaps under his belt to take control.

If they thought playing would aggravate Hardy's leg he would not have been in there. He needs the reps to get his game rhythm and we are deep on the line..once Nix made adjustments we started slowing their offense down even without Hardy (who by the way is a co-starter at that position).

I think that on that drop back one of the backs may have been out of position...but that is just a guess.

Hardy has to play his way into shape.. He put on weight that is clearly not muscle. I figure he was in good shape and then was sidelined due to the wreck.

Nutt also commented that he was excited that Hardy wanted back in after the injury. In the past, he would not have done that, and the coaches were excited about his new enthusiasm, so that probably played a part in them letting him go back into the game.

It was his right foot that got rolled up by the mother *beep* *beep* a**ed *beep* a** punk mother *beep* from Memphis and it was his left foot that was broken, I believe. He didn't re-aggravate anything. But, that doesn't mean that your point is invalid. I guess if he wanted back in, you have to put him back in if the x-rays are negative. He's a leader on this team now, and you have to foster that mentality. I do hope that they're careful with him these next two weeks. There's a fine line between holding him totally out, and letting him get work in with the D.

Ummm... really? He forced and recovered a fumble... ON THE SAME PLAY!

Just for the record, I will be the first to classify myself as a Casual Fan Via Marriage. (I attended a D3 school where the captain of the football team was a #185 offensive lineman who later attended Harvard Business School). I go to 2-3 games in Oxford each year and have only recently begun to appreciate the subtleties of the SEC game, so please forgive me...

Late last year, watching Greg Hardy play football was breathtaking. I sat with my FIL during the Miss State massacre and, to me, watching OM play defense was infinitely more interesting than watching the offense.

When I was in college I got the chance to go to Chicago and sit courtside while Jordan was still with the Bulls. Same idea with Hardy in that Miss State game. It was almost like there was no one else on the field. He was "beautiful" in that same odd sort of way that we from Mississippi think of the landscape of out state as "beautiful". You sort of have to understand and appreciate what you are looking at.

Long Winded Point Being: After Hardy returned from that injury I watched him exclusively for about 5-6 plays in a row. A couple of times he essentially stood up and waved his hands in the OL's face and never really moved. On another play the tackle pulled out on a sweep and Hardy hobbled around behind them, getting further from the play with each step. Last year he would have run that guy down and deviated his septum before he even got past the hash mark.

When I saw that, I turned to my BIL and said: Hardy's hurt. They need to get him out of there.

That's just how I see it....
