Looks alot like last year so far. Defense is struggling to stop Washington. Jefferson is 2 of 7 as the Tigers lead 17-10 at halftime.

If I were the DC of the team playing LSU, I would definitely play up close to stop Jefferson's running and MAKE him beat me with the pass.

Victory on a long road trip and many teaching moments for Miles and Chavis...objectively speaking a good night for LSU and the SEC overall...save the always overrated Georgia Bulldogs. What self respecting team from the southeast wilts in a little heat????

LSU will give excuses and tell themselves what they need to, but take away Tolliver's two plays and they do next to nothing. They were out gained by WASH and their running game was held in check. The only thing missing from last year was them throwing a pick 6. Instead they got one and won.

I will say again that I will not cheer for a team because they are in our conference. the more they win the better recruits they get, the more confidence they have, and the better their program becomes. I do not want 3 or 4 top notch programs in the west. I want 1, Ole Miss.

I understand what you are saying, but if we can be the best of the best, which I think we can, why not go that route. I don't want to be the best because everyone else is bad. I would love for the West to be the best 1/2 of the best conference in Country, which it could arguably be this year.

I want as many teams as possible to be undefeated when we beat them.

Good points. I would rather beat the best than the worst, but how often will that actually happen. I Think two elite programs in the West is a would be a good goal. The idea that teams can dominate when their surrounded by other elite teams does not work in reality. If the puke orange program In the state north of here gets better Florida will not be as dominate. Florida is the most dominate program today, but would they be if TENN, GA, FSU, and Miami were all(or even 3)at the top of their game? As it stands now Georgia is the only elite program among them and they got beat this past weekend. Notice among those teams when one goes down another comes up and so on. If state became viable would that help or hurt Ole Miss?

Whats good for tomorrow's poll is not necessarily good for the for the future of the program.

Totally agree. The best thing for our program is for MState, LSU, Arkansas, Bama and Auburn to suck. That sends more recruits our way. Odviously they aren't all going to be down but if only 2 or 3 can be up, I'd rather MState and LSU be two that are down because that would benefit us most in recruiting.

Couldn't disagree more...I don't want them to be undefeated for our poll numbers. IF we beat them at their best 1) the victory will be that much sweeter and 2) recruits will know that we are the real deal. Truly great recruits aren't going to come to us because our division foes suck (they will go elsewhere)...they will come to us because our division foes are great and we still beat them.

I want us to be good enough to beat very good teams...if not our championship season will just be a fluke!

I understand what you're saying Chuck. I just don't believe championship seasons are ever a fluke. If we beat every SEC team we play and win in Atlanta and win a BCS bowl game...no way thats a fluke no matter what the records are for each team.

However this is all just hypothetical because Bama is NOT down this year and the jury is still out on LSU, Auburn and Arkansas. So you're scenario is much more likely than mine. Bout the only thing we know for sure is where MooU will be at season's end.
