Why help prop up an inferior in state program to our own detriment? MSU playing them home and home takes the bullpups down to their level and in fact emphasizes that we are THE University of Mississippi and those other two will now be competing annually to see who is number 2.
And if you ever actually attended one of those games, you would know that is no "generalization" about their fans but just a statement of fact. They were so envious that their envy turned into absolute hatred and they could be 1-10 and it was okay as long as the 1 was against us.
You went to a USM game?
I went to every Ole Miss-USM game from the late 60's until we ended the series, with one exception. The last game in Jackson was the closest I have ever come to hitting someone in my life. Their fans were worse than any LSU game I had ever been to..and that is saying something.
I did not go to the only game we played in Hattiesburg to help them open their little stadium. I believe it was their only sellout for years (maybe until they played JSU). One year they even had a top five ranked Florida State team come to Hattiesburg and the stadium did not sell out. And we are talking 30 something thousand seats.
Why should we validate them by playing home and home. They are no better for us than SELA or Louisiana Monroe.

I went to several USM Ole Miss games...and I will tell you...the generalization is right on.... They are so zelous to beat Ole Miss...that the relationship between the fans was extremely unhealthy. Worse than anything I have seen out of any fan base we ever played....I have no desire to experience that again. Period. I don't mind playing the team.... Its their fans that I can not stomach.
All the kings horses and all the kings men for a SEC championship!

these guys speak the truth..I went to 6 of the last 7 think that's right) and I was at the "new stadium opening" in the hub.
It was unhealthy. to the point of police arresting some of their students after games for attacking OM Fans (Jackson)...damaged vehicles (Oxford and Jackson)...and that damned 50' long banner on the opposing side referring to The University of North Mississippi (VHS).. . Let them play VA in a half empty stadium.

Yes we do, it is called a W. We need to take back the state of MS as far as recruitment. Remeber Deandre Brown? I think its a great idea.
Deandre Brown had offers from Florida, Georgia, MSU, LSU, Miami, Ole Miss, UT, and TExas Tech, but chose USM...why? Brown went to USM ONLY because he couldn't qualify academically to play in a BCS conference school. And as far as "taking back the state of MS" goes, when the high schools in our fair state consistently produce athletes that can academically qualify to play in the SEC AND stay in school, then your point will have more validity. But as it stands right now, we've done pretty well recruiting out-of-state talent, and USM offers little to no competition to Ole Miss. USM currently has 13 verbals, and of those 13 only 3 have been recruited by Ole Miss, and not a single one was offered a scholarship.
And a "W" against Southern Miss just ain't worth the possibility of an "L" against USM. We have a commanding lead in the series...let's let it stay that way.
