with less than two minutes left and OM throwing on 4th down (broken up pass by the Gamecocks), wasn't there a call from the ref for unsportsmanlike conduct against the defense for taking off a helmet after the play? Should have been 15 yards and an OM first down?

Guess it was the martinis.

It was AFTER the play was called dead, and ball turned over
In Round 1 of the SEC vs. the Big 12, now known nationally as the Flag Football League, Texas Tech did nothing against Ole Miss to dispel the national perception that Big 12 teams couldn't stop their mail, much less an ambulatory offense.

Think the rule is if it is after the play, then the play stands. This happened in a Cowboy's game last year. Cowboy's got a first down, 15 yard penalty after the play and it was 1st and 10 about 7 yards from where the previous play happened. Call was correct.

Yeah that was a call could have decided the game. If officials are on the take in the NBA you know they are in college football

SEC officials this year have been a bit flag happy. In the past, they were mainly scrutinized for not throwing enough. Keep in mind, there was a potential spear/late hit penalty in the first half that would've given SC a first and goal if I am not mistaken.

Usually flags wash themselves out by the end of the game. I just think the officials have been extremely flag happy the first few weeks. And this could be simply them doing their job or just them trying to set the tone for the year.

Mccluster was definitely face masked and it should have been called. Not sure how it was missed. I know Petrino got a 15 yarder for asking an official saturday night why the flags started going against us after we got the lead.

Just think the officials are widely inconsistent and are having too much impact on these games imo.
