Just once

I for one am tired of seeing us beating ourselves. Good teams don't do that. I just thank God it wasn't State across the LOS from us tonight. We shot ourselves in the foot all game...

I really don't want to put all of the blame on Jevan Snead but he is supposed to be our leader on offense, the team takes their energy from him and if he isn't going to play to his potential then I am wondering if he needs to sit a quarter or two until he settles down and makes his mind up to quit throwing off his back foot all night. Either that or start throwing at the recievers feet all the time...
I am not blaming him for all of it but he could have done better if he would have jsut settled down and played his game and quit trying so hard to make something happen.

I am just disgusted...please pardon my rant.

Same here.....which is why I never gave a prediction on this game....it just had that feel.....plus, we ARE ole miss.

OK, so South Carlonia slapped us across the face. I am hoping that is what it we going to take to wake us up from the dream and gets us headed in the right direction. Maybe this will be what it takes to *beep* us off and take it out on the rest of the SEC.

Is anything wrong with Snead? is he partying a little too much or anything? He is nowhere near where he was the second half of last year.

Is something wrong with Snead? Nothing that a ten million dollar reduction in his NFL stock can't fix. He'll come around...and quickly.

I hate being right sometimes. I stand by my 7-5 prediction for this season. And its for no other reason than the fact that we are Ole Miss. What happened last night was not Snead's fault. Or Nutt's. Or anyone elses. It was what we always do to ourselves. No matter what players or coaching staff is in place. We are Ole Miss and we will never be more than a bowl program.

Personally, I have never seen a game whose outcome was so heavily influenced by poor coaching. If I have this straight, DM only touched the ball twice in the first half? Then, we keep trying to throw it when it is obvious Snead is out of sorts and they are dropping guys in coverage daring us to run. Then, when we do start running the ball effectively, we stop every few plays to run a trick play or throw a deep ball, killing our momentum. Not having DM in the game on a crucial third down? Having too many guys on the field after a timeout? Sending DM wide on a 3rd and 2 when we should have run Bolden between the tackles, or thrown a short ball?

Bottom line is that we were a more talented team, and SC played better, because they were better coached.

I am not rubbing it in seriously. I have seen QBs time and time again that were ruined by Nutt. Not a bash - just a true statement. I know that Coach Austin can help Snead. I just hope he is allowed to do that. Good luck on the rest of the season.

maybe you will read this before you are banned. We couldn't beat Nutt in 7 overtimes with a Manning at QB and what many say was the "ultimate" QB developer....and it was your QB play that made your win possible.

Matt Jones is a freak of nature with raw ability. He has not played ONE down of pro as a QB. As a matter of fact he is playing no where now because he was allowed to do what he wanted in practice at AR. If you will look at film, he truly REGREssed as a QB. Again, I think that Snead has developed some bad technic since last year. I have seen this over and over again. I do hope that he can overcome this problem. I think that he is a great QB and you guys have a great team this year.

he is coached by Austin...period.
there are over 100 QB's starting this weekend. 15 of them might play pro ball...but 50 of them will win their game today...and the some of the 15 who play pro won't be on the winning team this week end.

Nutt's job was to beat us with Matt Jones...not groom him to play in the NFL. He did that against us. would you rather he had lost to us but developed his QB for the Cowboys?

But, since you won't be around very long...I am through presenting my argument.

In 10 years at Arkansas, Nutt never had an SEC caliber QB. So, that comment holds no water. I used what he had to win games for an ungrateful fan base, PERIOD. Now move along and take your comments with you.

OK....I have been checking out what everyone is saying and can stay quiet no longer. Nutt was not my first choice as coach here and this is why. He has a track history of not being able to bring along a quarterback and help him improve. His nickname on the Arkie's blogs is the "quarteback assasin" and for good reason.

His first year at Ark was his best year and they slowly deteriorated after that. They had Tavaris Jackson on campus and instead used a WR (Matt Jones) because they couldn't develop Jackson. I just don't think he is a good coach for quarterbacks and so Snead is only going to get worse.

well troll...I see Petrino's QB is 7-21 for a whopping 33% at the half against bama.

Meanwhile...Nutt took a Wr and made him into a QB that beat Eli, scoring on 7 straight posessions. Go figure..Right now your guys are having your ass handed to you by Bama, shouldn't you be watching that?
