OM vs. Vandy predictions?

This one is on the o-line and snead. They are starting Stokes at linebacker, cousin of mine who lost his starting job from last year after a shoulder injury, and dropping the regular starting linebacker to safety. They are positioning for the run and bubble screen. The o-line got to block, the receivers got to get open and snead has to hit them. I say he does. 34-7
An Ole Miss grad nephew in georgia called tonight saying he was getting married. Lots to do. An Ole Miss fan niece in Cleveland called she was getting married. More to do. No way this is gonna be a bad weekend for Ole Miss football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Booooooo Yaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! Each wedding is worth fourteen points. That being said, game over. No way vandy could score that much. Just wish this could have happened a week later. I don't think Bama could score that much either!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the weddings, just tell them not to have them during football season. Per your previous post, which LB are they dropping to safety?bbqit wrote:An Ole Miss grad nephew in georgia called tonight saying he was getting married. Lots to do. I have to respectfully disagree to such a great username. The key to this year's squad on offense will be the running game. The Oline, right now, is much better built to run the ball, especially b/n the tackles. This, if successful, will open up the intermediate game, especially off play action, which will in turn open up the deep ball.jakegibbs wrote:Ole Miss should win but the way they've started this season is exactly how they started last season. If you look at last year's squad, every facet of the offense complimented the others. The running game as well as the intermediate passing and deep ball all had to be respected by opposing defenses. Dex and Shay across the middle of formations kept safeties honest, allowing Wallace to take advantage of a lot of one-on-ones. The running game also kept DBs honest b/c they always had to keep in mind run contain. The threat of both the deep and intermediate balls kept teams from blitzing, meaning less men in the box for the Oline to block on running plays.
The overall make-up of this year's Rebels is not much different from last season's. True we haven't found the deep game, but we have the potential to have a similar offensive mentality. IF we are able to establish a good running attack for the rest of the season, the OLine will gain confidence and have less pressure thrown at them, which should allow for more time for Snead. With our defense playing as well as it has, and with the D's potential to be very solid the rest of the way, there is nothing wrong with a ball control, play action type offense.
