At the beginning of the season, Hog fans were all over the message boards proclaiming that the Hogs would be contending for the SEC West and a BCS bowl game this year. This coming to a team that had a second year coach and playing a host of freshmen and sophmores with the brightest spot on their record being that they beat LSU the last game of the season the year before. Reality is that a 7 -5 record is more likely with 8 -5 possible. You guys were in the same boat. You came off of a decent season last year and took Texas Tech to the cleaners in the Cotton Bowl. Everyone had high hopes that Ole Miss would be the team of the SEC West this year but few remembered the ones that were on the O line that went to the NFL last year. Arkansas fans have to give Coach Petrino a couple of years yet to get his offensive play schemes down pat for his team and you guys need to give your Coach Nutt the same amount of time. Both coaches have been at their respective jobs for only one full season and less than half of this one so how can you expect them to have the greatest team in the conference. You just got beat by a team that could very likely be playing in the NC game. Arkansas got beat by the same team and plays one as good if not better this weekend. It won't be the end of the world if we get beat by Florida. We haven't got the team to compete against the Alabamas and Floridas without a lot of luck. Neither does Ole Miss. Only the future will tell if we ever will, or if Ole Miss ever will but support the team you have and wish them the best. You guys have class and that says a lot. I know there are some that come over and "Nutt this and Nutt that" but those guys are jerks. I am happy with Petrino and you guys are happy with Nutt. There is no need for a bunch of kids to be fighting over "My coach can beat up your coach." Here's hoping to an injury free and fun football season for the remaining year we'll see you in Oxford a week from Saturday and again, win or lose, I hope everyone has fun and enjoys the game.
