No way this will be viewed as a "signature win" by anyone at Ole Miss. Bama would have been a signature win....LSU could be...this is just a game we should win against a lesser team. No more of a "signature win" than Vandy or MSU.
And the only thing that will make these teams similar is our underachieving QB.
JustBlues wrote:has to wonder if you've even watched a football game this year. You certainly know nothing about Ole Miss, who is averaging over 30 points a game. And if you consider whipping a team 45-14 "struggling" then I guess that you guys "struggled" against Missouri State
That 30 point average is against cupcakes. We only scored 13 points against good teams. Our only quality win is against the SEC Cellar team Vandy and we only beat them by 16 points. I have not seen anything yet to show we have a good team yet. Maybe we will have a turn around starting this week. But three of our wins are against the worst in NCAA Divison 1 and our other win was against Vandy. Against SEC opponets we average no more than 10 points.
I have acknowledged our problems and they are real. The point is that Arkansas has also not beaten anyone of note. The post you quote from is in reply to the post by the hog who claimed that "Ole miss has not scored any points this year". Yes, Ole Miss has scored points this year. Certainly not as many as they should considering the quality of opponents, but that is a different discussion. Arkansas has the worst defense in the conference. If we are going to score some points, this would be the week to do it. I do not think, however, that we will score a lot of points due to the aforementioned problems. I do think, however, that we will score more points than Arkansas. I have made that very clear.

They did beat a a top 25 team Auburn and beat a 5-0 A&M team. If Arkansas defense shows up this week we will be lucky to only score 10-14 points. Florida only scored 23 on them.

A&M was not 5-0. They were 3-0 against N.Nex, Utah State and UAB. Since losing to the pigs they haven't won another game.
I just dont understand why our fans think we are so much more talented to Arkansas and just chalk up this a win. As far as recruiting players rankings we are about equal. Lets face it we was way overrated this year. This does not make us better than Arkansas. We have no proof we are any better than Arkansas. If you did say who is looking better this time of the year it would be Arkansas. I hope we win but it will be a tuff game to win.
Yes, they beat a team who WAS ranked in the top 25. They didn't beat a team who SHOULD have been ranked in the top 25. Auburn belonged in the top 25 just as much as Ole Miss belonged in the top ten. Saying that Arkansas beat a top 25 team carries as much weight as saying that South Carolina beat a top four team. Neither Ole Miss nor Arkansas has beaten a good team. Arkansas's defense has shown up for one game so far. If they can show up for a second game, then it could be a problem. So far they are ranked last in defense in the conference. Of course, Florida helped them a lot. Ole Miss's offense has only made brief guest appearances this year but it could also be said that if Ole Miss's offense shows up it could be a problem for the Hogs. Neither team is anywhere near being among the elite currently. Neither team is terrible either. They both are lacking terribly in consistency. This game could go either way in my opinion.[/quote]
JustBlues wrote:hard to call a team with 6 SEC championships "historically the 10th best team in the conference"... How many SEC championships has Arkansas won?
Only bad thing about that when we won those 6 championships cave men ran around everywhere.
I witnesses some of those championships, what does that say about me? It has been far too long since we have won one, I agree, but at least we have won some. For someone from Arkansas to say that we are "historically tenth" in the conference is quite laughable. If you want to talk history, it is firmly on our side. However, I do agree with you that it isn't history that matters today. We need to step it up.
we'll hope and cheer every year, but currently it doesn't look very likely that Ole Miss OR Arkansas is going to make a big splash in the SEC anytime soon. I do see some positives for both teams actually, but there are definitely some problems to solve and one huge problem called Alabama.
I don't think there is any doubt from anyone who has watched both teams this year and knows anything about football that Arkansas is playing better and looking better than us. Doesn't mean crap.
watched both teams play and know a lot about football. Ole Miss is playing much better than Arkansas on the defensive side of the ball and Arkansas is playing much better than Ole Miss on the offensive side of the ball. In fact, Ole Miss has one of the better defenses in the nation and Arkansas has one of the better Offenses in the nation. It is strength against strength and weakness against weakness. But you are right on your real point. Every week is a new week. Neither team is a steamroller like alabama and really neither team is a pushover/ I expect a close game but nothing would surprise me too much because I honestly do not believe that we've seen the best that either team has to offer. Both are inconsistent. If one shows up to play and the other doesn't, it could get one sided. I don't expect it will though.

Begging your pardon, but I don't recall seeing any cavemen. Admittedly, you could be referring to some of the Arkansas brethern. I would say LSU brethern but they are more of the "Swamp Thing" type.
I'm with you feliciana. I don't recall any cavemen... I don't think that Geico introduced them until much later. I do recall a few dinosaurs roaming the earth... Oh wait, there were Fred and Barney back in the day.
I watched the pressure Arky put on Tebow. That really concerns me because if they can put that kind of pressure on Snead, it'll be a major meltdown by our Qb. Snead must have a great game for us to beat those Arky piglets.
