How to cook a PIG

Take a large vessel, (the Vaught), fill it with intense heat, (fans). Drop the live Pig into this and shut down his escape routes, (passing and running). Increase the heat with repeated touchdowns and pig turnovers. Slowly watch the skin begin to peel back from the Pig. The squealing will diminish and then after total skinning, feast on Pork chops, ribs, ham, and side meat. Should feed thousands!

I would expect a capacity crowd if no rain. There are enough obessed Hogs who happen to be ALMOST as excited about their team as they are about the possibility of catching Nutt's brother on the sidelines ...that I imagine there will be more fans than tickets coming from AR. Grove Security beware.

Lol. They are going to be bad. I have always tried to be a classy fan and I want our fanbase to be that way as we usually are..but our group was treated so poorly last year in Fayettnam that I kinda hope we give them heck.

Fayetteville is remarkably hospitable to opposing fans. A couple weeks ago, four Auburn fans were standing on a bench with their little pompoms yelling War Eagle and making @sses of themselves in front of a crowd of about a thousand Hog fans entering Gate 8.

No one said a single word to them. Totally polite. Of course, 3 hours later, the scoreboard was a bit rude to them, but that's another story.

I think the key factor there was that Houston Nutt was not their coach.

With Nutt, you are bound to get "special" treatment.

The only time I have actually witnessed rude treatment of visitors in my 17 years of attending Razorback games was the Texas game. Texas and Arkansas fans really give each other hell.

you need to read some of the posts here. I believe that then you'd see how rude and classless some Arkansas fans can be. Every team has their share, but I've found that it is the teams that brag about how classy their fans are that have the most classless fans.

I firmly believe that it is a crying shame that sportsmanship has degenerated almost to the point of non existence. I'm from the old school, and I don't appreciate such antics whenever and wherever they are practiced. IMHO, a major contributing factor toward this trend has been the rude, unsportsmanlike conduct of many players; it began in the professional ranks and trickled down to the collegiate level. It galls me to see players openly taunt opponents and strut and dance around in celebration like they're the greatest thing to hit civilization since the advent of the wheel. What kind of an example do those kinds of in-your-face bravado and self aggrandizement set for youngsters coming up? I have an extremely low tolerance for such shenanigans; they really pi$$ me off. They're totally unnecessary. They literally scream, "It's all about ME! ME! ME!!!"

It's not just sports. Back in the day a fight on the playground was just that. Now (Look at the recent event in Chicago) it's beating to death or shooting/stabbing the other person. People have forgotten how to respect others space and do not have a clue what humility and civility is about. Whether it be a discourteous driver, cell phone talker in a restaurant, smoker at a kids park, etc., it never ends and people just don't care anymore. NOW you understand why we will not let that happen on this board. It is a place for us to play, not for others to come over here and ruin it for us even though it seems that many of the pig fans take pleasure in doing so.

I am not an ARKIE fan....but my brother and I made the trip to Fayetteville last year..we had no problems with the pig fans... infactm the ARKIE fans sitting beside us were most hospitable...even at the end when we won the game...

that's the way MOST fans at almost every school are. However, EVERY school has a few of the other kind of fan. Even the religious schools or the high academic standard schools have some bad fans. I've had very few bad experiences with fans of other programs and I don't see that one school is much worse than any other.

Same here and I agree whole-heartedly.
All fan bases have their _________ (fill in the blank). [bad seeds, bad sportsmanship, rude people, great fans, rednecks, etc.....]

I know the Rebel fans sitting behind me were treated great and we all had a great time. It's just a game, afterall.

I really believe the treatment by Ole Miss fans in Fayetteville last year has been blown way out of proportion. Maybe more heckling than usual, but nothing even close to LSU level. In fact this MississippiKite character on the scout board disclosed that the "bad treatment" he recieved was the appalling things said about Coach Nutt on the post game show. Are you kidding me?

Anyway, I'm very sorry to the Ole Miss fans that were treated bad. Whatever may have happened, probably had a lot to do with it being the first year Nutt was at Ole Miss. Doesn't make it right by any means, but emotions were probably running a little high from some of our fans.

There was a serious, rather wide spread movement engendered by a major Hogs board prior to last year's game in Fayetteville to have the Arkansas fans rise EN MASSE and turn their backs in utter silence when Nutt ran onto the field with the Ole Miss contingent. I'm truly glad that cooler heads prevailed, and that such an abysmal display of unsportsmanlike conduct did not transpire. You Rebel faithful may THINK that you are cognizant of the depth of Hogs fans' animosity for Houston Dale Nutt; but - in reality - you truly have no real conception of the deeply held rancor for your present head coach that permeates the hearts of a great many Hog fans. That is unfortunate, non availing and unproductive - but it is undeniably true. Further, such intensely negative and ignoble sentiments show absolutely no sign of abatement. It is what it is.
