We have the right coaches.....guitarguy wrote:we'll probably beat the necks. I doubt we'll beat TN. No way LSU unless Snead gets benched or wakes up. We need to fork out the cash for a real coach like Buma and FLA did
Since the first time didn't sink in...let's try again:Chucky_38 wrote:The team was never as good as the hype. That was odvious early in the year. So what? We're still Ole Miss. We're still going to have a winning season. We're still going bowling. We will beat UNA and at least one other of our remaining foes. Chins up Rebel fans!

Don't dare start harping about us not having good coaches because we have great coaches. The problem is not the coaches its the players not taking advantage of opportunities such as being past auburns 50 yd line 7 times and only managing 13 offensive points. And before anyone says anything else about Nutt and his staff remember the coach o days of only winning 2 games a season and that will put a stop to that talk. We have the staff we just have the olemiss luck of always underachieving when picked to do well........its always been that way are you suprised it hasn't changed?
Prior to this week, how many of us were thinking "Auburn is terrible! If we can't beat Auburn this year, Nutt can't coach."Goroth wrote:If we can't beta state. Nutt can't coach. No one's saying Nutt's worse than Coach O... at least not until Coach O's Vol's beat us at home. But look at what you're saying.... Not taking advantage of opportunities on the other side of the 50 is the coaches responsibility.... it's executed through play calling! I believe Nutt calls the plays. Look at when we got the turnover right after we had cut the lead to 13 pts. We got the ball just outside the 20.... in field goal range! Our coach didn't take one shot at the end zone from there. We ran backwards 3 times and had a penalty to move back into punting range in time for 4th and long. I'm not saying the players made plays, but the plays called on that drive sucked! Auburn knew what Nutt was going to try and beat us. You could say the same about the play calling in other situations when we were close enough to put points on the board and failed. I firmly believe Snead cracks under pressure and blame him for us sucking.... but Nutt's gotta make the decision to pull the players that aren't performing and put in those who can. Instead, our coach is making excuses for Snead. No, a coach doesn't call out a player publically, but he does make the decision to bench him when it's not working.jrebel87 wrote:Don't dare start harping about us not having good coaches because we have great coaches. I think the offensive and defensive coordinators in the box have quite a bit of say about the play-calling. that is their job. AS for staying with Snead I think it might help to wake him up to sit him for a couple of series, but we are only one season removed from not winning a S.E.C. game. You only only fix that over several seasons. I am still gonna fly my flags and be proud!
There is no use arguing with some people. Because we can't win the SEC the season is a bust and the sky is falling and there is no hope for anything because a winning season is a huge disappointment.
Get real. We aren't 3-9.

But we COULD be 7-1 or even 8-0 at this point. Wanna venture a guess who shoulders most of the blame?Chucky_38 wrote:There is no use arguing with some people. But oh, that's right...we're not supposed to openly criticize that hard-workin' (underachieving) quarterback of ours, are we unless we've been a QB in the SEC, are we?
Please.
Thats how I see it, yes. But its ok for me to see it differently than you.Sasquatch wrote:But we COULD be 7-1 or even 8-0 at this point. But I ask you, what good does it do to go on and on about what we COULD have done? We didn't. If shoulda coulda, we woulda. We're 5-3 with a chance to go bowling still. Thats where we are. Seems like we could be happy about that. But again, just my opinion.

The reason I'm not happy with this year is simple. I took off the glasses and quit drinkin koolade. Yes we are 5-3 with Tenn, Lsu and Msu (teams that will count) left. Do you really see a win after what we have seen so far? Do not think Msu will be fired up to beat us? Remember that may be a game that winner only goes bowling. They would be so fired up meth wouldn't make them high. Tenn has gotten unbelievably better. Lsu just keeps on winning and winning and winning. Get real with it folks. All a defense needs is two defensive backs to cover our passes. That puts 9 in the box to cover the run and screens. So ya don't really believe the "only need two def backs" do ya? {Snead takes the snap. Snead looks to his left about ten yards deep.} Hold it here. Guess where the ball is going? back to the action {the only defensive back on that half of the field has read the play too and is heading there. He makes a play on the ball and stops the completion. If he didn't intercept he managed to tip the ball. By now the only other defensive back from across the field has gotten in the action. He either catches the tipped pass or is ready to recover the fumble that he knows is coming.} Watson, its elementary!!!!!!
Good to see someone who has removed the rosy glasses. Although I will say that the playbook changed for the AR game and OM drilled us. I dare say that Ole Miss has beaten AR for the last time under Petrino. You needed the win and got it, but the rest of your season is looking pretty bleak. Its amazing what Nutt can do with great talent...he actually does better with average talent b/c of the motivation factor / underdog mentality. The top-10 pre-season ranking killed OM from the jump. Nutt does not know what to do with high-expectations.bbqit wrote:The reason I'm not happy with this year is simple. I took off the glasses and quit drinkin koolade. I think Nutt is just hoping for Bowl eligibility at this point. Good luck.

The playbook change you're referring to is the ONE play where Dexter McCluster runs off the right tackle. One would think a coach would catch on to that after the 50th time it was run. What a POOR excuse for a loss. You guys just got dominated.....at the line of scrimage namely. Can't you just accept that and move on?TN_Hog wrote:Good to see someone who has removed the rosy glasses. Although I will say that the playbook changed for the AR game and OM drilled us. Rule #1.......Don't panik
Hey, I said we got drilled and I have moved on. Some days your team just does not show up and that was one of those days. Don't know how else to explain how we let 1 OM player beat us on that Saturday, but it happens from time to time. I would assume you feel the same way about the Auburn game...how does OM dominate AR one weekend and then get walked on on Auburn the next? BTW, AR dominated Auburn...go figure.badmotorfinger wrote:The playbook change you're referring to is the ONE play where Dexter McCluster runs off the right tackle. That is college football. And if anyone has not moved on it is YOU.
TNHog its you who is rehashing the same old crap. Two years ago we would never beat a Petrino team. Last year we got our only win against Petrino's Hogs. This year your saying this was our last win over Petrino. Nutt can't handle expectations blah blah blah. What has happened to us this year is not Nutt's fault. We were overhyped by the media. Plain and simple. There are only two teams in the SEC good enough to dominate and they are doing it. The rest of us are all pretty much the same team stuggling for bowls. Anyone who knows college football can see that.
Once again, thanks to a Hog fan for coming on here to remind us of Nutt's shortcomings.
