I really don't see the Bowl Selection committee changing the rules for economic reasons... if they did, they might reduce some of those huge Bowl payouts.Rebchuck18 wrote:I think that in this economy, the Bowls are likely to give strong consideration to geographic proximity. So if Jevan has three good games and we win them all, my money (and my hope) is on Cotton.classof97 wrote:I agree, but I can't see any scenerio where that's possible. If we had beat Auburn there would be a lot more flexibility that could put us in the Cotton bowl with 2 out of 3 wins. 3 straight Wins at this point puts us in the Capital One bowl.Rebchuck18 wrote:I will amend your hope by one game...
I would prefer 3 straight wins and a date with the Little 12 at Jerry World.
Those Florida bowl games bore me to tears...don't tell me about the money difference...by the time you divi the money up among the conference the difference is negligible and probably eaten up by increased travel expenses of Florida vs Dallas..
Cotton please..
But first we need to win Saturday.....or we may be visiting Caddo Parrish instead of Dallas County..or worse yet staying in Lafayette County...
SEC 1 Sugar Bowl
SEC 2 Capital One Bowl
SEC 3 Cotton Bowl (SEC WEST)
Of course the past few years the SEC champion plays in the BCS NC Game, so the standing bump down one. SEC runner up goes to the Sugar, Next Capital One Bowl, Then the next from the West goes Cotton.
Most Bowl Projections assume LSU will beat us (Good Assumption) and have LSU in the Capital One Bowl with Auburn in the Cotton Bowl.
If we win 3 straight, Capital One has to take us whether they want to or not. We'll have the edge on LSU and the rest of the conference which puts us in capital one. Jerry World is really nice, but we could hope in one hand and *beep* in the other and see which one fills up first. LOL
With some help, we could get to the Cotton with 2 wins, but I really don't see it happening. Auburn would have to lose it's next two games and we lose to LSU.
