Nutt to Kansas?
Moderator: Rebel Security
He is doing something right if he is getting called. Take that baskeball coach at msu for instance. If he was really that good somebody would call him. If they call Nutt that is fine with me. It means the right things are going on and people are watchin it happen. Just let Nutt do his thing and coach this team. If he leaves, well no problem cause I will write a check to Saben off Thunder's account.

He has a history of winning with other people's players. You guys are about to see the real Nutt starting this year. He goes out and recruits subpar recruits so that when one pans out he takes all the credit. Remember, you are talking about a man who was texting his girlfriend 10 minutes before he coached the Capital One bowl.bbqit wrote:He is doing something right if he is getting called. Rivals board at Kansas has Nutt's picture on the front page:

Saying, "...his decision may have to come in quick fashion if things are starting to heat up."

Wow, thanks for bringing such a new and interesting opinion to this forum. This is ground-breaking stuff. Really. What a contribution!GalacticPig wrote:He has a history of winning with other people's players. You guys are about to see the real Nutt starting this year. Hoooooo...just on a whim, I refreshed the story at the KC Star. They've fleshed it out greatly, and added this paragraph:

This is going to be fun.
They must have something inside or they'd have let it die. This has definite legs.Athletic directors are not required to make a courtesy call before contacting another school’s coach.

I still can't for the life of me figure out how Nutt couldn't recruit ANYONE, but ended up with Felix Jones, and Darren McFaddin in his last year there. Doe Jimmy Johnson suck because he won with Howard Schnellenberger players? Does Schnellenberger suck because he won with Lou Saban players? Dude that song is old, please don't post it again.
College athletics is a business, and I do not fault the man for playing the game. You are only as good as ur last season, in that HIGH stress position where schools dangle coaches as scapegoats I don't begrudge these guys for getting what they can get. I was never a Cut fan, but the guy won 10 games one year and was gone 2 years later. I really don't see cause for concern if Nutt is talking to someone else when he has bargaining power.

FYI, I am sure I will catch flack for this, but I am comfortable with Kent Austin getting a chance at the HC position if Houston leaves.
I also don't ever recall hearing HDN saying he was here to spend the rest of his life. If Kent Austin comes in and is successful, we get the best of both worlds. A MAN that has been successful in everything he has done AND A REBEL!
I'm not trying to usher HDN out, but I won't be walking in front of a train unless they call YAW YAW YAW football to come back.
Also, don't be surprised if Nutt doesn't use the leverage from this situation to get Petey out of his hair somehow. If Nutt leaves, I'm guessing it would be more about Boone than that great Historical Kansas football program.

Then you don't understand Razorback football. Darren McFaddin would've played football for Arkansas if you were the HC. Felix was in Tulsa, and Tulsa is practically in the suburbs of Fayetteville. He was recruited but they didn't have to twist his arm.JoeRebel wrote:I still can't for the life of me figure out how Nutt couldn't recruit ANYONE, but ended up with Felix Jones, and Darren McFaddin in his last year there. You guys could always get Mangino if Nutt left. He might tip the average weight back towards the men's side in Mississippi.
For a school that only has Shepherd Smith to brag about, I don't blame you for loving Dale the Wonder Weasel.

This still comes back to the one speculative Arkansas radio broadcast that has no sources and quotes no authority. The Kansas City Star ran with it and several other media outlets citing each other as sources are repeating the same initial story from the Star. I know you souie fans hate Nutt but this is utterly pathetic. It's been two years, get over it. Y'all must have no confidence in Petrino with this incessant harping on Nutt.NotSausage wrote:They must have something inside or they'd have let it die. This has definite legs. And if by chance this turns out to be true and he goes to Kansas, I'll wish Nutt well and move on. We've had two good seasons with Nutt and I for one appreciate him. Austin is the head coach in waiting anyway so what's the big deal if he gets promoted a year or two early.
One detriment from Nutt leaving would be the absence of our faithful infantile Arky fans.

The initial story the Star put up this morning that was based on the radio show report was about 3 paragraphs. They fleshed it out tonight with their own reporting.RebnPhilly wrote:This still comes back to the one speculative Arkansas radio broadcast that has no sources and quotes no authority. They added filler material but still nothing closely resembling proof or citing a source with any knowledge. Just a rehash because their is nothing more to add. I guess for someone that is filled with so much resentment toward one person, a football coach nonetheless, that's enough for you.NotSausage wrote:
