David Brandt (Clarion Ledger) talked to Boone who said that the rumor that Nutt had talked to Kansas was false. Brandt was unable to talk to Nutt, who is out on the recruiting trail, but Sheppard Smith of Fox WAS able to get in touch with Nutt who said that the rumors are false. We shall see, but I for one find this rumor highly implausible.

I do not find it implausible that Kansas tried to contact Nutt..I am sure they are probably trying to contact lots of coaches and they would want to contact successful coaches...which is why they did not place any calls to Fayetteville!

Thanks for posting a link to an article on website of Mississippi's main newspaper. Twice. We'd never have found it.

Aside from the fact that it isn't a big deal... AT ALL.
Piggletts, if I had a multimillion dollar job THAT I LOVED BECAUSE IT IS IN A BETTER PLACE THAN ALMOST ANY OTHER JOB-RELATED CITY IN AMERICA, of course I would talk to them. Be stupid not to.

What you cannot seem to get in your minds clearly is that it didn't mean a hill of beans. As soon as I saw this garbage last night it never worried me at all. From Ole Miss to Kansas?!?!?! Seriously.
If it were ND, I'd have worried. A little. But not much, because we'd be fine without him.
But no way. Kansas?!?!?!
Stupid Piggies....

Yep, the arkansas fans were posting rumors and lies... they actually claimed that Nutt contacted Kansas and that he was doing it to negociate a raise, both of which were fabrications. We aren't suprised that a coach who has had the success he has had is contacted by other schools and we aren't surprised that he chose Ole Miss over Kansas. We are also aware that there are better coaching jobs out there than Ole Miss currently and there is always the possibility that one day he will be made an offer that he can't refuse. When that happens, as long as he doesn't slither out in the dark of night like one coach did, we'll wish him well on his career, thank him for helping us recover from orgeron and find another good coach to replace him.
