Why would Petrino require a U-Haul to transport a toothbrush and a comb?rebelliousb wrote:Just inside Kansas State Line
Before you say anything, I have moved past Nutt. My teams coach is Petrino.felicianareb wrote:Why would Petrino require a U-Haul to transport a toothbrush and a comb?rebelliousb wrote:Just inside Kansas State Line
SO you give is grief saying we havent moved past Nutt but you attack our coach. Which if you look at this coaching history there is only one coaching he left in less than 2 years and that was Atlanta. He Coached Louisville for like 6 years so I guess he didnt just run out of town.

He was at L'Ville for 4 seasons, not 'like 6': Before L'Ville he was at Auburn for a season; I won't knock him there b/c can't blame him for the jump from OC to HC, but prior to that he had several 1-2 yr stints over a 20 year period.CentralArkHog wrote:Before you say anything, I have moved past Nutt. I'll try to make this simple: No one has attacked your coach. No one has spread nasty rumors about him. No one has checked his cell phone records, in fact no one has impugned his coaching ability. There's this thing called light-hearted fun. If you haven't tried it you might come to like it. Especially when you're not on an Arkansas board.CentralArkHog wrote:Before you say anything, I have moved past Nutt. What you fail to mention is that we are on our board. We are not on your teams sites making these comments, but as you are aware, since we hired Nutt, we have had to deal with hundreds (not a stretch) of your kind over here bashing our coach. So yes, we give you grief over here when you come over every time you think it is a dark day for us because in the end, your coach did the unthinkable and left in the middle of the night DURING THE SEASON with only a note to the players. How can anyone defend that? In conclusion, feel free to stay on your boards and keep your opinions to yourselves.CentralArkHog wrote:Before you say anything, I have moved past Nutt. However, if you would like to talk football and leave the personal attacks about our coach and school out of it, then you are welcome to stay. You should know the drill by now.

But cut him some slack...after all he did leave a very thoughtful note when he left his team hanging in Atlanta in the dark of the night! Well I dont blame him for leaving Atlanta at all. He had players supporting a dog killer for sport & money. Also Deangelo Hall is a Thug as you could see when he went to Washington and put a cheap shot on an Atlanta player when they players earlier this year. So apparently Hall did not care much for Atlanta as a whole.Rebchuck18 wrote:But cut him some slack...after all he did leave a very thoughtful note when he left his team hanging in Atlanta in the dark of the night! Funny thing is about Petrino leaving Atlanta, It is not okay for Petrino to leave 13 games into the season but it is okay for Mr. Blank (Atlanta owner) to fire a legendary coach Dan Reeves 13 games into the season. Blank complaining about Petrino is hypocritical to me.
Petrino First HCing job was at Louisville. All the other jobs he was assistants so to me that is irrelevant.
and the entire few years he was in Louisville, he was famously flirting with other programs. I personally do not think that is a sin, but many of the arky fans who post here say that is why they didn't like Nutt.CentralArkHog wrote:Well I dont blame him for leaving Atlanta at all. I agree that Petrino flirted with other schools. SO did Nutt. That means nothing to me. The coaches have to look out for themselves and their family so it doesnt bother me. The problem I had with Nutt was that he couldnt develop an all around offense. Sure we had 3 good years but when he was supposed to win he played not too lose.JustBlues wrote:and the entire few years he was in Louisville, he was famously flirting with other programs. Ole miss should have finished better than 8-4 this year. You had the talent along with the schedule. Nutt gets so dependent on a fews players so when one of them gets hurt he seems to not have another option.
i.e. When Dexter got hurt against Auburn, the offense looked barely average.
I also have moved past it. I normally will not come on your guys board and knock Houston at all. Houston is your coach now. The only reason I said anything is how the media misled people about Petrino.
Good luck in the Cotton and show the Big XII what the best conference really is.
That had little to do with coaching and much, much more to do with our QB turning out to be a head case this season.CentralArkHog wrote:

Since Arkansas has been in the defense strong SEC, no coach has produced a better offense (or better team) for them than Nutt. Before Nutt, Arkansas was 26-50-2 since joining the SEC. After Nutt, they are 12-12. So far, Nutt has been the only coach able to have a competitive SEC team at Arkansas. I am very disappointed in the road performance this year, but overall happy with the team. Two years ago I certainly never dreamed that we could get a coach that would come in and have the record at Ole Miss that Nutt has over his first two years and go to the Cotton Bowl two years in a row. I knew that we had more talent than was obvious with Orgeron at the head, but I thought we had more than two years worth of building to do before we would get to where we are. Will it continue? I don't know, I am hopeful. I am certainly pleased so far with recruiting. We have another talent laden team next year and hopefully will be able to produce INCLUDING in road games.CentralArkHog wrote:I agree that Petrino flirted with other schools. SO did Nutt. Yes Nutt has done well if his first two years at Ole Miss. Glad for him completely. And I am not being sarcastic. I never wish ill will on anyone.
You might be right about Snead being a headcase. Just don't understand what happened to him from last year to this year. I don't know if I will be able to.
Sure Houston did well for us in his 10 years at Arkansas and I am appreciative for that. The only thing was the predictability of his offense. He could never get a quality QB here and when he did (Mustain), he had no idea how to use him effectively. Yes we are 12-12 in two years under Petrino but the talent level when he got here to run his kind of offense was way behind. As you see this year the talent level is on the rise and keeps getting better. Plus next year the schedule is much more in our favor than it was this year. For us to go 7-5 when we had to go to LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss & Florida in the same is very good. Easily we could have won 1 or 2 of those road games as well. That tells me we are very close to where we need to be for the SEC.
