Yesterday news leaked out that upcoming sophmore pat patterson was dismissed for violating team rules. Today Coach Nutt confirmed it. This is kind of shocking considering that after his suspension he was doing much better during spring practice. This is very bad for our offense because it was young enough as it is and now we only have 2 returning wrs with any game experience. Our only hope is that these incoming freshmen, aka vincent sanders, explode out of the gate to be reliable. Coach Nutt didn't say exactly why he was released but he apparently violated probation and we just had enough of it. I just don't understand why athletes do this, they have the privelage of doing what most americans can't, play college ball in the sec. There are just some people who can't do the right thing and its going to probably hurt us this year.

man was hoping he would really take off and be a big game WR too.
done

IMO, given the off the field stuff and how poisonous that can be, we will be better off without him and Tig. Maybe this will open the door for some scrappy youngsters who really value the opportunity with which they have been blessed to come out and make some maybe less spectacular but more consistent catches.

Coach nutt came out today and said tig is doing better but his future as a rebel is still uncertain, he said he's waiting to hear whether tig wants to play here this fall and hopes to have a answer soon, go to clarionledger.com to get the info. And i agree with the above post that yes it will hurt us to not have patterson but it will give some youngsters a shot to prove themselves. That may hurt us this year but it will only help in the years to come because the experience they will get.

Patterson was never going to be a quality SEC receiver. When they aren't pretty good as true freshman they won't ever be great and he had way too many flaws, regardless of age or experience.

Nutt's game doesn't revolve around 8 different receivers catching at least 3 passes. This is no significant loss whatsoever. All he was ever going to be was a pothead and cancer to the teams success. WR's are a dime a dozen. Nutt will line up running backs in the slot.

New poster with a quality, intelligent point. Way to go, delusional.

I agree. It was rumored that this is why Damien Williams left Arky (due to Nutt's style of offense) and transferred to USC. Hopefully Patt can get his life on track after this.
