I agree, they both suck.....especially the bye, so my score would be:

Bye - 80
OM i.c. - 14

I would like to add, though, the mascot vote is not a poll that will determine a winner; it is merely an opinion poll. The voting selections are "love", "like", "can accept", and "dislike". From the beginning, it was meant only to poll opinion. You wrote "if 65% vote for a particular mascot, the committee would not select it". You may be correct, but I think that was the idea from the beginning. The only way to declare a winner is by using two mutually exclusive responses, e.g. Yes or No. By including the options, like/dislike/etc, the door is open for interpretation, thereby allowing the committee to make the final choice, not the voters. Just my 2 cents.

The way that the final vote was structured really bothers me. It should have been an up or down vote....something fans could take ownership of! As it is, the committee will make the decision....not alums and season ticket holders. The committee just asked for our opinion.....not our yes or no vote!
done

Ole Miss 39 1/2
Bye 6 (they score on a pick six and miss the point after)

Mascot......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :|

This is true and the committee should realize that they asked for my opinion and that the school will call or mail again asking for my monetary contribution to the school. They have dug a hole and managed to offend everyone involved in the way they have handled it. I'm not saying whether it's time to move on or not, I'm saying that this has been a Grade A joke and I only ever expected this amount of ineptness for New Orleans local politicians.

Perhaps the most amusing and little noticed aspect of this whole mascot debacle is the fact that the sideline character "Colonel Reb" WAS the brain child of the administration in the first place. Somehow, the demise of "Colonel Reb" reminds me of the "Throw out your dead" scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail...

Think of the money you could have won if you would have bet a state fan after the vandy game that we would not lose three weekends in a row.

In a squeaker,

OM - 20
Bye - 19 OT
Mascot - Honestly, who cares anymore. This is not a new revelation that they're going to pick whatever they want, so I don't get why we constantly rehash the whole "R opinyun don't MATTER YALL!!1!" debate. Of course it doesn't really matter. Maybe I and a few others have just moved on to the "acceptance" stage of grief while others are still in the "anger" or "depression" modes. When it comes down to it, a mascot doesn't affect on-field performance or recruiting at all, so who the hell really cares what big foam thing they go with? The only demographic that will be affected is the 10-and-under group, so let's move on for crissakes.

OM - 15
BYE - 37 (we do have a lot of players injured this week)

Mascot - I have been in a state of Apathy for a while now, probably the worst place to be.
