It seems that Julio schoolyard Jones has a broken hand and is ify for this weekends game. Does that make a huge difference?

I sure would think so, but the ground game worries me...however, the Gamecocks seemed to have their number all day long.

I'd love to see Bolden run amuck in T-Town.

Unfortunately for us, Bama has to make a statement. We are the paper they put their exclamation point on.

56-6 Bama. We won't get into the red zone.

It kinda sux that we are already out of the national championship contention (yeah, I'm in disbelief, too 8O ), so I feel I need to root for our SEC brethren. Therefore, I feel like I win either way it goes this weekend becuase I wouldn't mind an upset, but wouldn't mind if Bama goes the rest of the year undefeated either (as bad as that stings when I type it :x ).

I understand your reasoning, but I truly dislike this post! Being a fan of the SEC does not outweigh or equal being a fan of your team. That is disgusting. It is like the fans of SEC west schools who cheered for Alabama against SC. Why? If Bama loses they have 1 SEC lost on their record. Ole Miss has one SEC lost on their record. So until we play Alabama and lose why on god's green earth would you want Alabama winning last weeks game or not caring if they won this weeks game?

Alabama winning more National Titles along with Auburn, and LSU means they have a better ability of cherry-picking Mississippi kids than they already do! It means it makes their school stronger. Cheer for Georgia, Florida, or South Carolina till your hearts content (they are not in the SEC West) but don't think the measly extra $2 million split and ability to brag on the SEC of a national title is worth having schools in our division winning a national title. You should a cheer for your school to beat another team, and Second always cheer for an SEC East team to beat your SEC west foes.

I've learn you cannot predict football so I'll go the optimistic route with the Rebels winning in a shootout. 42-38. Hopefully our offensive production continues enough that we can outscore them also throw in a couple of turnovers created on defense or special teams. Other than that I will go into the game expecting the rebels to win, but if it happens to be incorrect I won't cry if they lose (actually I rarely get upset about a lost, but I always cheer for a win)
Good point. Of course I would rather see some SEC East team win, but I don't think it's going to happen this year. So, since the Rebs aren't going to be there, I will root for the SEC team that is. I just hope it is not Ohio State and Boise State, or 2 crappy teams like that.

Haha! Yes, you can generally count on a few points as a result of questionable rulings.

Living in Alabama, I hear almost every day about how the officials don't like Alabama and are always unfair to them.

Making this prediction is almost painful. I think we hang with them through 2 1/2 quarters then the D decides to take the rest of the game off and they quickly run away with the game.

In Saban's Monday press conference, he indicated that last year's Alabama team was a championship team, but this year's team hasn't done (expletive).

Now, is that motivational fodder for his team, or frustration at the loss, or both?

If I was Ole Miss, I'd have the Bama/SC game blaring 24/7 in the locker rooms...

Powe has already called Bama out, so to speak. Not overconfident, just hungry, I'd say....not for catfish, for elephant steaks.

We are only midway through the season and I don't see any SEC West team making it through the rest without two losses. Now I see how you doubt Ole Miss in making it through its schedule, but in the present time we are one of 3 SEC west schools with one loss with 2 others with none. In my mind that means we still have a chance. I have seen teams turn it around and click mid-way through the year (Ole Miss 2003 & Ole Miss 2008 - I don't think people remember how awful we looked the first half of the 08' season) and I have seen them collapse. Currently we are not out of the race and until then I will hope that all SEC West schools lose to whichever SEC opponent they play especially Ole Miss.

I do however think South Carolina does have what it takes to make a run at the title. Garcia last year had just as good of numbers as Mallet & McLeory and seems to be getting it together even more this year, South Carolina has a running back that I will say at the end of his college career will be in company of Hershel Walker, Adrian Peterson, and Bo Jackson when you speak his name (as long as he doesn't get seriously hurt), they have one of the best Defensive Coordinators in the country (Ellis has had good defenses everywhere he has been even Starkville), and Spurrier is no slouch when it comes to game time adjustments and play calling. Alabama didn't lose to South Carolina. South Carolina showed up and beat Alabama from the beginning to the end of the game. South Carolina was the better team.

It also shows what turnovers mean in this league. The question is can South Carolina limit turnovers and be lucky in regards to injuries.

I will say it right now Alabama has one more loss on its schedule and it might not be Ole Miss, but I don't see why everyone is predicting a beat down even though it could be.

We stay in the game for 3 quarters, hopefully it will be 28-21 at that point, and then their rushing game chews up yards and clock and they score to win the game 35-21. Thats somewhat respectable.

Bama 35-17. If they can run the ball, they are very close to unbeatable. Think OM will have to pass which unfortunately isn't their strong suit.

With the Julio Jones news, I think we will do better because Saban won't be as willing to go away from the running game. I hope Nix looks at the game film and attempts to re-create what S. Car. did to stop Ingram and Richardson. So, I do think we hang in there more. I agree with JRebel87 and say about 35-21, maybe even a little closer.
