Won the 22d Chucky Mullins award (which was opened this year to Jrs for the first time). Heres to a speedy recovery for DT.

Hagar, it was not meant seriously. However it does pose the question: If you're still on the team do you stop being the Chucky Mullin winner and give up No. 38 if they give it to somebody else. I'm not sure they've thought this one through.Hagar wrote:whatever number he wants ... probably 40...he got the award last year. I think it is pretty simple: Lockett was the 2010 recepient, Shack is the 2011 recepient; heck someone may easily step up and deserve it more than Shack in 2012 and/or 2013 (assumes Shack does not return in 2012 and is redshirted, meaning he will still be a JR in 2012). Its a year to year award.felicianareb wrote:Hagar, it was not meant seriously. I guess I'm looking at it as follows: It's the highest award you can get in Ole Miss football. If you win it as a Junior it would be an enormous let-down if you kept working at the same high standard and someone else gets the jersey the next year. It's not an award you put on your shelf. It's an award you wear on the field. If you don't win it the following yeat It's as if you've had your position of honor stripped away and given to someone else. I see the Chucky Mullins Award as less like the Heisman (competitive) and more like a character award of the highest magnitude.
