2 things to salvage the season

I almost want to fire Nutt too but I don't think the brunt of the fanbase is behind it yet? By no means do I think the Arky trolls were right even if we fire him. I just, unless he proves me wrong by winning more games and proving this game and last year a rebuilding mulligan, think he was never really a fit for the program and was blessed with 2 years of good players that fit his playbook. Then again, under Boone, who is? Maybe if we got rid of Boone we'd fix our problems with Nutt.

That's freakin' ridiculous. I just got home from the game, and I can promise you that the only thing Boone has done wrong, was hire Nutt. He was completely confused on the sideline, and Lee was even more confused. The two of them argued almost the entire game. Once, Nutt chewed on Lee and Lee just threw up his hands and walked away.

I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of Nutt. It is a bitter pill to swallow, but pig fans were right. Nutt is terrible. And he is doing exactly what the porkers said he would do, 3 years ago.

Rant over - just *beep* off right now. A perfectly winnable game thrown away because of sideline confusion.

This game was his fault. Plain and simple. Lets call a time out and on 4th and 10 and give their defense a chance to regroup while we blow our chance for an extra timeout.

I thought Lee was sitting upstairs in the Coaches Box, was I wrong?

I watched him on the sideline through the end of the 2nd, and near the end of the 4th. Utter confusion. The chewing out happened near the end of the 2nd. I'm assuming he came down prior to halftime. Have absolutely no clue why he would come down near the end of the game, although Nutt was clearly calling the plays in most of the 3rd and all of the 4th.

Key things to pay attention to that could put us at a 7 to 9 win season:

1. Stoudt has a rocket for an arm. One discipline mistake made all game is what cost us the game.
2. Nix has really improved the defense. They played 40 minutes almost and aren't why we lost (except the one horse collar)

On top of that the special teams is getting better.

Offensive line needs work, they got away with a lot of holds in my opinion. Nutt has no clock management skills.

I think Stoudt is our man. Anyone else agree? Or do we all think we're really an 0-1 team that will be lucky to win 4 again?

I will say this--if we don't win 6, I want Nutt out. I'm not the most popular for this, but to give us two almost great seasons then disappoint us Orgeron style simply won't fly.

Edit - At least it was a bunch of racist mormons and not Jacksonville State. We'll make up for it in conference play. Just like JVSU we were definitely not outmatched. Unlike JVSU, this won't end our season.

I think Stoudt is the guy too. Hopefully the players and coaches can settle in on this guy and mold the offense a little bit for what he does well. All spring and summer camps he's running #3, so at this point he just needs more practice reps and everyone needs to go in knowing he's the guy, if thats how it is.

I think you should be careful about your "6 win" comment and maintaining that type of attitude. 6 wins is doable but for the most part there's never a big difference in the SEC between a 9-3 team and a 7-5 team, sometimes it's just 2 or 3 plays, sometimes luck, injuries, the schedule etc. You might have a 5-7 team one year, 2 years later have a 7-5 team, but the 5-7 team actually was better talentwise. I don't ever go into a season thinking ,I must have x number of wins or I want the coach out. It doesn't make sense. I want to see the body of work.

1. Promote Tyrone Nix. He keeps the D, and hires a winning O cordinator.

2. Fair question. I don't know. But consider this. How much money will the program lose from keeping Nutt? Televsion revenues, donations, ticket sales, season ticket sales, and so on.

Put those revenue losses all together, and it may equal the cost of just buying the guy out and sending him down the road.

I can't imagine that Boone would sign a contract that he couldn't afford to get out from under. That would be tough for me to understand. You just can't do that in the SEC.

the same place it has always came from when we run off coaches. and the reason the north endzone is not bowled in now.
we don't have to buyout another coach just yet, but maybe his boss will force him to stop calling plays.

for a Qtr and a 1/2! We have a very young team and firing Nutt at this pt would have a very negative impact. however if the QB rotation cont this wk, fire his a$$.

I agree Zack seem like the starter, but he needs some time with the 1s and hope he is all ovr the WR. They need to pitch & catch it b4 during and af practice sessions.
