I've seen many high school coaches do a much better job of coaching than what I have witnessed in many, many games. Even some that we have won.
And a high school coach makes about $40,000 a year and has to teach a class. So throwing money at a coach doesn't make him coach any better.

Agree something must be done...but will it be done before we lose to state for the third time in a row...mascott wrote:I've seen many high school coaches do a much better job of coaching than what I have witnessed in many, many games. Even some that we have won.

We don't have the Nutts to make a change mid-seasonmetalinc wrote:Agree something must be done...but will it be done before we lose to state for the third time in a row...mascott wrote:I've seen many high school coaches do a much better job of coaching than what I have witnessed in many, many games. I don't want to lose to State again!!!!! And I know if that's the only other fame we win, they won't fire anyone.1OLEMISSREBEL wrote:nothing will be done till after MSU wins for the third time!!

Well if Mullen and lose to everyone in the West and beat Ole Miss. Get cheered and praised and rewarded. Makes sense that it would be that way on the other side too.

Just saying administration doesn't listen to voice of fans. We're stuck with Boone! They will probably fire Nutt though.bleuwolfe wrote:who gives a fig about that cartoon..god thats itproud2breb wrote:Yeah, like they listened on the mascot issue, right???fenderman wrote:They will fire if the seats are empty and the emails come pouring in
The Clarion-Ledger reported Nutt's buyout is $6 million if he has three or more years remaining. I believe he was extended through 2014 after last year
'm working from memory here, correct me if I'm wrong). So fire him during or after this season and the school is on the hook for $6 mil
assume that would be lowered if he takes another job, that's pretty standard. But why should he, when he gets paid almost as much to not work?)
This is one of my pet peeves, when coaches get canned and take all the heat while the administrators who hired them not only keep their jobs, but are entrusted with finding the coach's replacement! You think if I made a $6 million mistake I would still have a job tomorrow?
For the record, I supported the Nutt hiring. I know people from Arkansas who told me what an idiot he is, but I thought he was a good coach. I was wrong. But it's not my job to be right. It is Pete Boone's, and he failed miserably. Twice. So, hey, let's give him a third shot.
Established head coach, hot assistant, up and comer from the lower ranks ... I don't think you should pigeonhole where the next guy comes from. You can strike gold from any source. I don't think Pete Boone can, though.

Didn't billy brewer cause us to be put on probation? Probation that our football team didn't recover from for years until Tuberville came along? If were talking about hiring brewer back, I would much rather talk about hiring tommy tuberville back, because he has about as much of a chance of being hired as brewer does. Neither are the answer.
Believe your right...take that SEC check pay his rear off...then get rid of the loser that brought him here...umrebel96 wrote:The Clarion-Ledger reported Nutt's buyout is $6 million if he has three or more years remaining.
