Why would Malzahn be bad? Just curious. I like the idea of a Kirby Smart. Also Brent Venables, Bryan Harsin, Bud Foster, Manny Diaz. Those would be realistic. Just outside of realistic would be a Sumlin, Briles, etc.

"Ole Miss--Where Washed Up Coaches Come to Die!" Sounds like a postcard.jrebel87 wrote:Jim tressel would kill to be offered a job to coach a sec team right now! This would be the only time we could get someone like him. He would be way better then some no name.

Agree with top two. Diaz not coming here to be a coordinator. And if Ed orgeron's neanderthal ass crosses the state line into MS I will throw up. The NCAA would be right behind his ignorant assJimbo wrote:Since we can dream, how about this.

Agree about O--any of y'all that still buy into his recruiting myth needs to open your eyes. I'd love to give Manny a shot.Rebchuck18 wrote:Agree with top two. Why would Diaz choose us over Texas unless you are talking about Head Coach which there are no indicators he is suited for.bigtreydaddy wrote:Agree about O--any of y'all that still buy into his recruiting myth needs to open your eyes. I would like to see Ole Miss think out side the box and go after Paul Johnson. Who???? Paul Johnson (PJ) the current coach at GA Tech. He would bing the triple option with him which he has been very successful winning with at Hawaii, Navy and GA Tech.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Johns ... l_coach%29
I am a graduate of GA Southern University which has six national championship flags flying at our stadium all won with the triple option. Two of those by PJ. We left the triple option and have not been competitive until we hired one of PJ's assistants to bring back the triple option and made a charge for the championship last year and am currently ranked 1st in 1-AA.
Can the triple option win in the SEC? GA Tech is 4-2 playing SEC teams since adopting the TO including wins over Vandy, UGA, and Mississippi State twice. GA Tech is a consistent winner in the ACC with the TO. I think it is a offensive that can be successful without having the top 4 and 5 star athletes that we loose to the bigger programs in the SEC. We can spend a lot of money to get a great coach but we can not buy the best athletes who are picking the bigger programs.
I say hire Paul Johnson and give him a budget to get the best defensive coach he can find and he would create a consistent winner at Ole Miss.
