Announcing “RedBlue PAC”
A NEW GROUP TO SUPPORT THE INTERESTS OF OLE MISS

Today marks the beginning of a new organization to support the interests of Ole Miss through the formation of RedBlue Political Action Committee (PAC).

RedBlue PAC has been created as an independent group of alumni and friends of Ole Miss to advance the interests of Ole Miss. By joining and supporting RedBlue PAC, the group will be able to support candidates for office who will work for the best interest of Ole Miss, and advance the goals and policies set forth by the organization’s leaders.

“I am honored to serve as the first chairman of RedBlue PAC,” said Mayo Flynt, Chairman of RedBlue PAC. “This group of Ole Miss alumni and friends have come together to advance public policy initiatives and goals important to our University. We encourage everyone interested in supporting our University in this effort to join RedBlue and help make a difference.”

There are various levels available to join RedBlue PAC, from the highest level Lyceum Group to the Student Union Group level that students can join for just $20 a year.

RedBlue PAC will provide support through campaign contributions to qualified candidates running for statewide or legislative office in Mississippi. Candidates will be selected based on their dedication to supporting Ole Miss. RedBlue PAC will not participate in local or federal elections.

Today and for the past several years, the state’s Institutions of Higher Learning and the University of Mississippi face funding challenges that could have an adverse effect on the future of Ole Miss. Budget cuts are sure to impact many programs and colleges, from liberal arts to accountancy and business administration to law, pharmacy and the University Medical Center, plus many more. Further budget cuts will surely affect the university’s ability to provide students with the top quality education they expect and deserve.

In addition, these funding cuts could tarnish the reputation of these nationally-recognized programs and the university’s ability to obtain supplemental research and economic grants, endowments and other monetary awards.

This is why supporters of Ole Miss must come together now to ensure the future of this great university. RedBlue PAC has been formed to make our desires known and to support the future stability and growth of Ole Miss.
