Regardless of where you stand on the Coach Nutt hotseat, this is an interesting article.

As I have stated before, team youth is why I think Nutt gets another year (or two) with some staff changes at the end of this season. I remain firm on my opinion that Boone needs to go. From there the next AD gets to make the decision regarding Nutt.

Young, old or dead.....if you dont have a qb you don't win....we don't have a qb (young or old) and won't as long as Nutt is here...keep him another year and we set ourselves back for two or three.
While I agree that Nutt holds much of the blame and he should not blame Orgeron, do you not think that the scholarship reductions left by Orgeron and Orgeron's reluctance to redshirt certain players have any impact on this team?willy reb wrote:"It is what it is" This is his 4th year as coach. It is a crappy first 2 classes that is the reason we are in this predicament that we are in. Don't blame Orgeron at this point. It is all you now.
still doesn't have anything to do with us not having a quarterback. point is Nutt relies on transfers to plug holes. and Alot of the 4 year Guy's from his first two classes have been dismissed or transferred out. ala raymond cotton jesse grandy melvin harris. why is it that lsu players can do anything they want serve a small suspension and come back such as jordan jefferson, but our guys Just seem to disappear? why would you recruit someone with bad character only to have to dismiss them before they even graduate
heard state's changing field to turf next year. cheerleaders kept eating the grass

Did you notice the part about the only starter in consecutive games from the class of 2007 is Bradley Sowell? That speaks volumes right there. I realize it may sound like I am on Nutt's side but I really am not. More playing devil's advocate. While I agree that the lack of a QB is having a profound effect on the offense the defense is 106th in the nation right now. As best as I can tell Brassell is the only guy playing both ways right now and he has not looked like part of the problem. Our problems are much deeper than QB and the QB killa.JustBlues wrote:While I agree that Nutt holds much of the blame and he should not blame Orgeron, do you not think that the scholarship reductions left by Orgeron and Orgeron's reluctance to redshirt certain players have any impact on this team?willy reb wrote:"It is what it is" This is his 4th year as coach. Nutt recruited questionable players and acts surprise when he has to dismiss them for stealing tv's, smoking weed, not going to class. He brings in Masoli and while it was entertaining to watch Masoli play, we still would have ended up 4-8 or at worse 3-9 and now our qb's look lost and don't have a clue. Our defense looks just as lost. JC and freshman defensive tackles, ends that can't rush the qb and linebackers that arm tackle. Our db's the best out of the group but that is not saying much. Lots of young kids out there and they will be much improved next year if they don't leave or are dismissed. Lack of control on the part of Nutt. The attrition rate is awful. Nutt has lost this team and it doesn't look like he can get them back. We will be 3-9 this year with not much better hopes for next year. He is on cruise control and enjoying the ride pocketing all the cash that Boone gave him.JustBlues wrote:While I agree that Nutt holds much of the blame and he should not blame Orgeron, do you not think that the scholarship reductions left by Orgeron and Orgeron's reluctance to redshirt certain players have any impact on this team?willy reb wrote:"It is what it is" This is his 4th year as coach. I would pay to see a live discussion between Pete Boone and Houston Nutt, blaming each other for the football program being so bad.
