Leach interview from Morgantown

We don't need a leach type offense. We need a ball posession type of offense. With a Leach type of offense, our defense will be on the field too much.A10Rebel wrote:We need a leach type offense not leach. He's not a good fit for Ole Miss but his offense is.

I think we are wasting our time and focus talking about Mike Leach.....I doubt very seriously that he is in the mix with lawsuits, book tours, etc.

I agree. We need to focus on Rich Rod..Rebchuck18 wrote:I think we are wasting our time and focus talking about Mike Leach.....I doubt very seriously that he is in the mix with lawsuits, book tours, etc.

Just kidding. I like Skip Holtz.

You know I have always thrown Holtz name out there, but I watched them the other night and they have that d*** "athletic quarterback offense" too....now that may just be because he inherited Daniels, but Daniels averages almost 15 carries a game and has carried the ball more than any of their running backs.carl winslow wrote:I agree. The more I look and study and think about this search the more I really really like Sumlin, not just because of the type of offense he has at Houston but because of the type of offense he had at Oklahoma as well.

I think you coach what you have, and then you recruit to what you want. Rich Rod did get Denard Robinson, and Leach made his guy a winner. Two different scenarios to think about.Rebchuck18 wrote:You know I have always thrown Holtz name out there, but I watched them the other night and they have that d*** "athletic quarterback offense" too....now that may just be because he inherited Daniels, but Daniels averages almost 15 carries a game and has carried the ball more than any of their running backs.carl winslow wrote:I agree. One made what he had with what he was given, the other could only make it happen with what he wanted. I don't know if that makes sense, but it does to me...
Not opposed to what each coach does to win. I would take Tom Osbourne and Tommy Frazier tomorrow if it gave us a run at a title, and Frazier was a RB at the QB position...

Which is the reason Leach never had a good defense. I would rather have a "Pro-style" offensive coach (or OC), but that's just me.JustBlues wrote:We don't need a leach type offense. a decent DC would not go to Ole Miss with Leach because he knows that his D would be on the field too much because of Leach's style of offense.jrhawki wrote:Think we then need to help Leach out with a decent DC.We don't need a leach type offense.
