looks like our Hail Marys are coming up empty.

Hail Mary all you want I like the hire. Won't convince me otherwise untill there is some hard evidence.

What more evidence do you need to see how unqualified this Guy is. There needs to be an investigation of this process.

I have yet to see any evidence that he isn't qualified.

You think one year experience at the lowest level of division 1 qualifies to be a HC in the SEC?

What evidence do you have that I along with others are unable to comprehend that has you so convinced that he is qualified?

I actually hate this hire.

The fact that everyone else does means only one thing. He will do great..

The only thing that makes me think this is a good hire is that everyone is ticked off about it. I remember being excited about Nutt, and I can remember how that turned out. I was excited about Orgeron, and remember how that turned out. Tuberville, Cutcliffe, etc.

Malzahn came from a bad situation and did ok.

Not justifying the hire. Just rationalizing it.

I think experience is over rated. If you have sound philosophy and can recruit I think you can win wherever you are. Think O would have won if he had sound philosophy on coaching when it was apparent he didnt I proclaimed it here and the rooftops that he should go will do the same with Freeze in 3 years if that is the case. Experience highly overrated to me.

If that weren't so tragically naive it would be funny.

Heard a rumor today that Archie said he never would have taken this chore if he had known how political it was going to be. Now there's no way he didn't know how fickle we are as a fanbase, so it would have to be internal politics. If this is true I hope he speaks up about it and helps us get rid of what appears to be a ball and chain inside the Lyceum.

Call me naive all you want but you guys are the ones that are losing your minds over this and I am actually excited. Had this same argument in baseball. Huge Cardinal fan but I rejoiced when LaRussa left after the WS this year. I think he cost us more WS than he won us. I value stats waaaaaayyy over experience and he was the exact opposite. Give me youth and stats over experience in any sport on any team. Not naive just my opinion in the way things are.

You'd think it would be less overrated to you after the Orgeron debacle.

I can't get behind this hire. I hope he proves us all wrong. But right now, I think this is a catastrophe of a hire. No big time experience except for the short stint with us under Orgeron. What could he possibly have learned under Orgeron, unless he learned how not to do it.

I can't even name the place he went to next b/c I've never heard of it. I'll admit, he did a good job in his ONE year at Ark. State. But's it's still Sun Belt ball and it's only ONE year.

Smart had no HC experience, but he does have a Championship ring and he's the DC of the #1 defense in the country who happens to playing for the National Championship for the 2nd time in 3 years.

Apparently RichRod and Leach wanted to come here. I wasn't a fan of either, but I'd prefer them over Freeze. Hell, RichRod's Michigan team just earned a BCS bowl. And that IS his team.

Lambuth in Jackson, TN. He won there I think for 2 years, but they cancelled football (THEY CANCELLED FOOTBALL) and then he was hired as OC at ASU.
