We tied the game at 76 with over a minute to go but we let usm score a 3 pointer on the next possession and then gave up a dunk to seal our fate. This was another chance to get a win against a RPI top 15 team and we didn't get it done. Kendrick played 8 minutes and had zero points. What has happened to nick williams? He had zero points as well.

I didn't get to watch it until about midnight last night. Luckily, I went all day without knowing the score. Needless to say, I went to bed angry. While there were bright spots..... Free Throw %, 3 point %, Rebounding (especially Big Murph), etc. Overall, I thought it was a poor effort. Up by 5 in the first half I really thought we were about to hit a hot stretch, then Kennedy subbed in Jones, Kendrick and Snoop White all at the same time and the chemistry bottomed out, we took poor shots, and Southern regained the lead. I think Kendrick and Snoop are gonna have to show better decision making to earn more minutes. Defensively was what really teed me off though. We have been really good on defense and aggressively pursued turnovers and played really good help side D so far. Last night there were times it just seemed we took a trip off, lost track of assignments, and gambled without recovering well (especially on their 3 point attempts).

Overall, it seemed lackadaisical at times and that this game didn't matter as much to us as it did to them. It should. This was a recruiting battle and RPI battle held on the court, and we lost both.

End rant.

We deserved to lose that game. That was the most emotionless game I've seen them play.

It seems that we just do not have the players with the want to win attitude that USM and MSU have. I don't know whether it is coaching or the players or whether we just do not put the emphasis on winning against the in state schools that they do. Probably a little of all the above. Just a poor overall effort against USM.

I thought we played pretty well, but just got beat by a team that played better. I kept waiting for their shooters to go cold, but it just did not happen.

Yes- We could have played better defense & that last dunk by them stunk, but a pretty good game over all.
