That has got to be one of the funniest things I have seen! Made my day.

Hey, I have almost done it myself...but it is funny and I give credit to a guy that can laugh at himself. :P

They actually had a couple of hundred extra fans that don't normally come to a UAB game cause of a high school all star band. This was the reason I was there with my daughter. The announced crowd was 18000 something. Some people I know said it was more like 12000. We need to play them to fill our schedule, but only as a home game. We will get more national ridicule and be the butt of SEC jokes for going there than we did in going to Arkansas State in 2001. We need to start thinking like a big fish instead of little fish!!!!
what a dump. kinda reminds me of....hmmmm. Memorial Stadium in Jackson. Looks more like the 2A championship crowd in Jackson. Thanks for the photos though.

Believe me, Memorial Stadium is much nicer, and safer, than Legion Field..hope it won't be a night game or I will tell my kids to stay in Oxford! 8O

Do you all (RebelFaithful.com) have a tailgate going for your home games?

We are interested in bringing our tailgate to Oxford for the Ole Miss-Texas game.
I want to get the logistics done ahead of time, and we'd love to combine/join with an Ole Miss tailgate group for the game if at all possible.

Please feel free to email me with advice/offers/suggestions at pabloknight@yahoo.com

Thanks in advance! Looking forward to this game already!

I was under the impression we had UTEP and not UAB the second week...

Should be three wins and a possible...Texas is good for the rep.

That might be a tough schedule if we look like we look now...

Why, why, why would we schedule any team that is beneath us (IMO) such as Fresno State and UAB? If we are going to be like the big boys we have to act like the big boys. Never would LSU or Alabama schedule Fresno, UAB, Arkansas State, Wyoming, etc. on the road. Texas and Georgia Tech, yes, UAB? C'mon, get real.

Sorry, did not read all the posts before I commented, but it still goes for Fresno. UTEP at home, that is acceptable.

Two years ago when this was announced I wrote John Hartwell and told him the was a great mistake playing a Conf. USA team on the road. I went to a UAB game last year vs. SMU and there was a grand total of 13 to 15 thousand at the game and this was their first or second home game. I also have pictures to prove it. It was the date we were open. You think the neighborhood around the Liberty Bowl is terrible, wait till you get to Legion field.
Yea, and if that's not bad enough I think UAB will be looking for a new coach.....what if they get Nutt 8O

Just heard they're releasing the SEC football schedule tomorrow, December 28th, 2011, at 9AM. Guess we'll find out if we have A&M for sure.

I would expect with A&M in the West that we will have them on our schedule.
