Maybe I didn't make myself clear - I do not like tx, and the last tx qb we had was a mental case. Check Cali though, much better.
and even with that diminished mental capacity that Texas qb won 18 games in two years as a starter. Just think what we could do with a well adjusted TX qb! 8)

And what happened after those two years??? Why did it happen??? What changed??? Two words: MICHAEL OHER!!!

Is A&M to West and Missouri to East a done deal? I had heard initially, one scenerio had both to west and Auburn to East. Geographically, this makes since...but it would completely change the dynamics of the conference.

that's the way I've understood the communications from the SEC. A&M is in the west and Mizzou in the east. Of course, if I misunderstood it wouldn't be the first time.

I liked it better when we only had to face Texas teams in bowl games. This Hugh Freeze better be the football messiah or I'm going to seriously consider getting a balcony room and jumping. (kidding)

I'm not anymore afraid of Texas anymore than Auburn or Arkansas. Then there is still Alabama and Lsu to deal with. Tough year next year and you can look at it two ways. One it will be too tough to win many or it will be like playing a bowl game every week cause of who we play.

Excellent assessment.
I just keep thinking this team hung with bamie for a half and almost beat Ark, with better coaching.. who knows maybe the fun will return to Rebel FB.

This year's Alabama and LSU teams are phenomenally above the rest of the nation. I'm sure Saban and Miles will continue to field winning teams, but they will not be at this level every year. Although we have had trouble beating 'Bama over the years unless the QB is named Manning, we have been much more competitive year after year against LSU. We beat them in 2008 and 2009, and it took a subjectively-enforced diving into the end zone penalty against us late in the game to enable them to rally and beat us in 2010. We also beat Arkansas in 2008 and 2009, and they were fortunate to beat us this year--our worst team ever. The Hogs don't walk on water.

In short, we can compete and win our share with the right head coach. Without a good hire, you don't win many, no matter who you play. Not in the SEC. But far too many people have gotten all worked up thinking that LSU and Alabama will always be this invincible. I say no.
