The schedule is improved for us. First, we no longer have ten games in a row. We now have a 7-5 split with the open date coming just before Arkansas. Also: the location of the Arkansas game is listed as TBA. In other words, we may be in the running for playing that game in Little Rock, instead of Fayetteville. I like substituting A & M for Florida, even though Muschamp's first year was not impressive. The first four games will remain the same: Central Arkansas, UTEP, Texas and at Tulane. Realistically, we could be no worse than 3-1 during that opening stretch. Best shots at SEC victories will be A & M, Auburn, Vandy and State at home and that possible road game at Little Rock, where we lead the series. Broyles moved us to Fayetteville because he got tired of losing to us in Little Rock. Also, we were able to bring more fans to LR.
This is undoubtedly the toughest schedule in the country when you include our non conference games. Wow. One thing I love is playing Vandy later in the year when they always drop the ball. Playing them in the beginning when they are healthy and confident was dumb.
I love a tough schedule so I am looking forward to next year. I have asked myself what it will take for me to not grumble very much next year and after reviewing the schedule, here it is:
1) there must be visible effort from the team, and
2) we must get at least five wins. I cannot under any circumstance be satisfied with a loss against Central Arkansas, UTEP, Tulane, Vandy or Mississippi State UNLESS there is a corresponding upset to offset that loss.

Tell that to the 2010 and 11 teams. 3-1 to start would be a best-case scenario, and that would still only play out to maybe 5 or 6 wins on the year. Even with an astounding improvement; I'm thinking 4 wins might be all we can expect. This schedule is brutal.Titles 'R Us wrote:Realistically, we could be no worse than 3-1 during that opening stretch.
I never expect less than 14 wins. However, with five or more wins I'll tell myself "well at least we're better than last year". I will not consider less than five wins a step up but rather more of the same.Burn wrote:Tell that to the 2010 and 11 teams. 3-1 to start would be a best-case scenario, and that would still only play out to maybe 5 or 6 wins on the year. I always expect to win the next game. If you always win the next game, then that's what follows. No typo at all. I hate losing and refuse to expect or accept it.Burn wrote:Typo? Or perennial national championship expectations?JustBlues wrote: I never expect less than 14 wins.
