Wow. 3 teams from Texas in Oxford in one season. Great for me though next year when they will be close to me.
"I'm a solid verbal."

Does that mean you think we will lose all the rest and go 3-9? I'll stick with 6-6 or better right now.

I don't think Texas is anywhere close to the upper echelon of the SEC right now. I actually think they are one of the teams we could beat on a given Saturday. They have been anything but impressive the past two seasons, going 5-7 and just managing to avoid a 6-6 this year against Texas A & M. They will be favored, of course, considering our recent, all-time low performance on the field. There are those who feel that CHF is a bad hire, but I don't see it. Successful coaches win anywhere they go, and it doesn't take them forever to do it.
It's no secret that the 2-10 team had a complete lack of discipline and guidance. Nutt also let quite a number of players slide on academics. I expect a good effort every time out from CHF's teams, even when we are outmanned, as we will be from time to time. I already concede that we will be picked last in the West and possibly fourteenth in the league overall. And if for some god-forsaken reason, we still had Nutt, I'd say that was a likely bet.
However, if this team gets off to a 3-1 or 4-0 start, we will have at least a 6-6 season. You can remind me next fall if we're still playing like a 2-10, coach-less team.

What Texas does have is a defense that I think can shut us down if we don't have a change at QB. Their offense however will be as good as David Ash is and he is in my mind still a question mark. But Diaz's defense is very good except when it goes against an exceptional QB who can throw the rock (see RG III)Titles 'R Us wrote:I don't think Texas is anywhere close to the upper echelon of the SEC right now. I could see a low-scoring game between the two, reminiscent of BYU--14, Ole Miss--13; Texas--17, BYU--16. Diaz is definitely a good DC.
I agree. But I also agree with Jeff Scott. We'll be a lot better next year.OMNOB 1A wrote:we are not a good team yet.
Alabama is the best team in the country and should enjoy a championship this season.
That said, we have done okay
