I think Cutcliffe thrives in a no pressure situation like he has at Duke. He had all those health issues when you went back to UT as the OC. Don't think he wants to go back in the pressure cooker.joe_t25 wrote:They hire Cutcliff or Gruden, the program will be where Kentucky is now in a few years.
Gruden, no idea if he'd be effective as a college coach. Would he be a good recruiter? I don't know.

I agree Cut might not be great for UT and that his health stress is probably better served at Duke. All he has to do at Duke is break even and he's a great, great coach. At UT, break even and he's out after 3 seasons. Although they're highest profile alum is a very, very big fan of his old Offensive Co. and might speak his mind.
Gruden otoh, can he coach college, idk? Can he recruit..... You betcha!

But does he want to recruit? Saban, Spurrier, etc. Failed at pro game. It's a different animal. Conversely, Bill Walsh failed at the college game when he left the pros. No correlation at all. Gruden earns mucho millions right now in the broadcast booth. I'd be surprised if: 1) he takes a college job and 2) he succeeds at it.theghostofcolonelreb wrote: Gruden otoh, can he coach college, idk? Can he recruit..... You betcha!
