Tonight, when there was about 3 minutes or so to play, with the score 41-17 Rebels, they played the video clip on the Jumbotron of Mullins saying to his team "we'll never lose to this team again" over and over! Then they played the waaa-waa sound. They also did that after the game was officially over. :D

His best move is to jump to another program while he has a chance. As long as Freeze is here (and I think it's gonna be a LONG time), he knows he will be owned. The 3-game win streak against us was all he had, now that's gone. He has no more ammo left, and he knows it.

They desperately need someone down at Southern, but Mullen's ego wouldn't permit it. He's got this idea in his head that he was a player in the SEC.

You know I was talking to a buddy of mine this morning about this very subject...We both believe he would be a perfect fit at USM, and would have a very successful tenure there, he would have been a good Conference USA coach. If he would have started there he may have had the same career path as Sumlin, simply a case of touch much too soon.

Actually it was played with less than a minute to play.....but point taken....one of the greatest things I have ever seen the media relations department ever do, I was surprised when I saw it, but felt a great sense of satisfaction....

It was really funny and well timed. As for all the talk of how overrated Mullen is, well, ok, but I don't think he is. The man has taken MState, one of the historically worst programs in the SEC to three straight bowls and has a chance to win 9 games in a season for two of the last three years. He's had three straight winning seasons there. He's not winning the SEC but he's overachieving there. I'm glad we finally whipped him but now I'd like him to move on. He's better than Starkville.

However, this much is true. It took Mullen four years to beat at least three teams in the SEC West. He is 3-1 against Ole Miss, and two of those wins were when Houston Nutt just sat back and took the money, going 1-7 and 0-8 in the league. This year he finally beat Auburn and Arkansas (along with Kentucky and Tennessee), and those four head coaches were fired. Ole Miss also beat Auburn and Arkansas and would have beaten Tennessee and Kentucky as well had we played them.

Meanwhile, Hugh Freeze beat three SEC West teams his first year--very nearly beating five. Mullen's success this year was definitely due to State's schedule. State is the worst 8-4 team in the country. Ole Miss is the best 6-6 team in the country. Mullen may have stirred things up in Starkville for a couple of seasons, but he's peaked. And now he's stuck there. We've seen this movie before. It's called "Jackie Sherrill Goes To Starkville." We know the ending. It's not pretty.

question 1: why are we talking about this over hyped deflated bully?
question 2: why are some OM fans defending him?
question 3: who gives a wilted dried up fig?
