Bianco is famous for his stubborn mismanagement of the bullpen. Same ole song. Same ole Bianco. Leave them in until the damage is done. Then play from behind the rest of the game.

Our guys are out there staying in the game on their own. We're paying Bianco a helluva lot not to make it this hard. Saint Louis has RPI of 114.
Some of the blame has to fall on the players...they're the ones not getting the timely hits, they're the ones standing there taking called third strikes with 2 outs in the 9th inning. I know everything goes back to the head coach, but at some point we have just start hitting the ball.Titles 'R Us wrote:Our guys are out there staying in the game on their own. With all that said we did finally pull it out in the 11th by a final of 8-7.
Happy we pulled it out! When you did a hole by being down 4 runs in top of 1st....it is often hard to win. We continue to have both poor pitching (with a couple of exceptions) and poor hitting (with a couple of exceptions). The Auburn series should be interesting!

I can think of six games that we have lost mainly due to bullpen mismanagement and lack of fundamentals. Those are strictly on the head coach and staff, not the players. We are paying Bianco as if he had accomplished everything Ray Tanner accomplished. I've heard some Bianco lovers refer to him as 'our Ray Tanner.' What a joke!
The six games I'm referring to are: two A & M games; two Kentucky games; two Memphis State games. Yes, we should have swept A & M. We should have swept Kentucky; we should have swept Memphis State. We gave away all six of those games. We'd have 38 wins at this point by taking care of business, which Bianco teams often fail to do when it matters. We'd also be 15-6 in the SEC and contending for the overall.
No matter what happens in these last ten games, the team has underachieved so far, and that is on Bianco. Again.

If you're going to give up 4 runs in an inning, it may as well be the 1st inning because it gives you more time to come back. If you say we "continue to have poor pitching", you obviously haven't been paying attention. We have the second best ERA as a team in the SEC. Pitching has NOT been our problem.rebangel wrote:Happy we pulled it out! When you did a hole by being down 4 runs in top of 1st....it is often hard to win.
