What's up is that Bianco simply has no instinct for managing the bullpen. He keeps some guys in too long in certain games. Then he yanks them too soon in others and puts in someone who blows up. Over the years, he's generally left guys in until the damage was done. Lately, he's yanked guys when they were pitching quite well and put in a pitcher who just didn't have it that day. It's part of being a good head coach, and my take is that Bianco just lacks this ability. It's not going to suddenly appear, just like he's not suddenly going to turn over calling the pitches to someone else. He's not a delegator. He has to have total control over every aspect of the game. That worked for him when he was at McNeese State where the competition wasn't very daunting. And McDonnell and Bunn were able to handle aspects of the game for him while they were here. This is the truth about Bianco that some of our fans don't want to face. He's a limited coach and not capable of winning at the top level of the SEC, and that's what we're paying him for. In short, he's not getting the job done.
