Close. He was reassigned, whatever that means. Greg Robinson is immediately assuming the coordinator role.

News channel in Houston is that he was reassigned so they don't have to give him the payout. He'll probably be washing jocks until they can get him to quit. Kind of interesting that they had Greg Robinson already waiting in the wings in an "advisory" roll.

They are just recycling old coaches out of sheer desperation. This could be the next big step for this program under Freeze. This is a huge opportunity to knock off a big name program while they are down. We wiffed on that opportunity with A&M last year. This could be the sixth big step. The first was winning the first SEC game last year, the second was beating Mullen to get a bowl game, the third was winning the bowl game, the fourth was the recruiting class and the fifth was finally beating Franklin and Vandy! Now this one is just waiting for us. Low hanging fruit. We must prepare this team to grab it, we can not fear this team like our staff did last year. Texas would be a middle of the pack SEC team. Hell they may be a middle of the pack Big 12 team. Win the day! One word of caution though.... Watch out for Jonathan Gray... If the qb situation is in flux they may use Gray more often and he is a legit running back who could play in the SEC.
Even with Texas reeling and disorganized, a road win over a traditional powerhouse would be quite a feather in the cap. Road wins don't come cheap in the major conferences. By the way, of the SEC teams that have had road games this year, only one has won a road game so far...Rebchuck18 wrote:They are just recycling old coaches out of sheer desperation. We can't get cocky by any stretch. Texas might be down, but they beat us like a drum last year with basically the same team. A national champion winner as head coach , knows he's done if he loses. We are 4.5 point dogs... Which means we would prob be a 1 point dog at the house. We are catching them at the right time, but we have to show more than we mustered Saturday. I think we will..

Actually, though it pains me to say it, two SEC teams have road games... The LSU win is considered a neutral site win and not a true road win. According the SEC website, Ole Miss is the only team with a road win. http://www.secdigitalnetwork.com/SECSPO ... There is a difference between being cocky and believing you can win. The latter is absolutely necessary, and I will always believe that one of the reasons for the huge beat down last year is that from top to bottom we did not believe.
