I think what aggravates me the most when I think about the Bama game is that WE had two weeks to prepare as has Auburn for us. I agree with you however, they need to get their heads on straight and regroup or this could get ugly.

I hate to even pick this game as I feel the coaching (offensive) hurt us pretty bad in that game last week, but, I do feel like if lessons were learned we squeak by...
Ole Miss- 21
Auburn -13
I'd also like to add that for those of you who said that the plains is a tough place to win a game, they are not "Auburn". And though Texas is not "Texas", it is my belief that if you can win in Austin, you should be able to win in Auburn.

I had this game as a coin flip, but in light of today's unneeded media distraction, I've changed it to Auburn by 7. We may have talent, but it is extremely immature talent. And it is now distracted and immature.
EDIT: Given current weather forecasts, this may not be a game where it matters if Bo can throw past the d-line, because he won't be throwing much.
I do not see Rebs posting a W until the Idaho game. 2nd half at Bama was every coach clinic for containing Freeze's spread offense.
Hope I am wrong.,

Are you kidding me? An overblown reaction by the media, and now our 18 year old freshmen are immature. The same guys that have helped us win all season, who have made such an impact... Geesh. We may have talent, but it is extremely immature talent. And it is now distracted and immature.
We got this.

But you have to have the Bama talent and roster depth to do it. AU, TAMU and Lsux do not have their defense.

Alabama has mediocre corners. Bo himself said that. What the Saban/Siskey coaching clinic showed was a simple way to box the edges & force Scott into the middle. In the middle, Bama did have the talent to stuff us.cajunrebel wrote:But you have to have the Bama talent and roster depth to do it. AU, TAMU and Lsux do not have their defense.
I am happy to wake up & see that National Hurricane Center has delayed arrival of TS Karen, because that lets me remove my concern about weather. I agree that the "distraction" is a media circus, but if a bunch of 18 year olds don't know basic theatre etiquette they are immature off-field. And off-field has a big impact on field.
Still not optimistic about the next 3 weeks

In order to box the corners effectively like Alabama did, you must have big speedy defensive ends (or outside linebackers in the case of the 3-4). Auburn does not have the personnel. They will need to try a different approach or they are going to be diving at Scott's feet as he struts to the endzone. Even if they could accomplish it, I guarantee you that this week we would counter by running I'tavius Mathers (as the Beaver) more up the middle. We will be able to get a better push against the middle of Auburn's line than we did against Alabama's. Especially since it looks like McCray will spend much of his time at guard this week. They may find a game plan that works, but if they try to use Alabama's game plan, they are in for a long night.Old Sardis wrote:Alabama has mediocre corners. Bo himself said that. Still not optimistic about the next 3 weeksPlease, someone tell me that old habits die hard. I know two things for sure -- after tomorrow night, we'll know a lot more about this year's Rebels & I'll have a mess to clean up in my yard :p

Agreed. We cant let the loss to bama dampen our spirits. That was going to happen. They have the personnel to play the way they did. Auburn does not. No more bama on our schedule.
JBlues, what is your prediction for tomorrow?
I think we will be able to run the ball better against Auburn and that will loosen things up. We may struggle early but I think in the end OM wins. I'm going to say 34-20 OM. This is almost a must win because the next two games are going to be very hard to win. This is a brutal four game run and this is the most winnable game out of the four. Alabama is the number one team in the nation. I though OM played very good on defense against them and although we didn't score we did move the ball on them at times. I can understand going for it on fourth down except for the fourth and ten. Freeze was doing what he thought he needed to do to win. I can't fault him for believing in his team and trying to win. I have to believe that OM will be ready to play after what I have seen since Freeze arrived.

Auburn, A & M and LSU do not have anywhere near the defensive talent that Alabama has. Some of our fans are overreacting to the #1 team and the #1 coach in the country outplaying and outcoaching us. I don't like to predict scores. I just expect us to win this game tomorrow.
