Ole Miss only moved up one spot--from #15 to #14 in the AP Poll. If we take care of business against ULL and Memphis (State), however, we should be close to the Top Ten by the time 'Bama rolls into town. Incidentally, Oregon jumped 'Bama in the polls to #2 because of their win over Michigan State. Meanwhile, Sparty only fell from #7 to #13 after their loss, which prevented us from moving up a little further. Mark it down, certain media types out there will do what they can to keep the Big Ten in the conversation for the playoff. But on-field results won't impress the committee.

Yes, I think Mich State & Oregon both started over rated.
And I'm as excited as the next Rebel about the start to our season, but at the end of the day it wasn't Boise State from the glory years, and it was just Vandy without coach Franklin!
If we had started out ranked 100th, we wouldn't even be in the top 25 or any conversation for the top 25 after those wins. When we beat a real team, I'll start holding my breath.
I was sold on our #4 preseason ranking Snead's last year, but we started with a humiliating loss to SC, and in 4 weeks we dropped out of the top 25.
Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic and expect big things! I'm just trying to go one game at a time. I think we'll be undefeated Bama week, and can't wait for that game. But we're not there yet.

The Memphis State Boards are full of their fans saying they'll win 8, 9 or 10 games this year, that we're overrated and they have a great shot at us in Oxford. But then they have always been obsessed with Ole Miss.

TCOB! Elvis said it and Ole Miss needs to.................................just DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We can play with anybody right now and we need to show it to the rest of the country over the next two games.

Memphis fans are dumber than dumb and more annoying than msu fans.
They've won TEN games out of 59 the entire series...but from listening to them you'd think the series is almost dead even. Reality will hit them in the face soon enough.Titles 'R Us wrote:The Memphis State Boards are full of their fans saying they'll win 8, 9 or 10 games this year, that we're overrated and they have a great shot at us in Oxford. I think they'll take care of ULL and Memphis (Memphis isn't great, but I don't know about overrated. They just took a good UCLA team to the wire), but it's the five game stretch starting 10/4 that has me a little worried. Bama, A&M, Tennessee, LSU, Auburn. That is brutal. Good wins against Boise State, but this isn't BSU in their heyday with Petersen, and not Vandy of the last few years under Franklin. Definitely excited to be 2-0, but trying to temper that a little.
