103 total yards for Memphis. 81 passing and 22 rushing. That is TOTAL dominance. They had 469 yards against UCLA.

True, but it is Memphis. Defense looked great, no doubt! But as good as the defense looked, the offense looked equally horrible!

OK, I've had time to summer donna. It was ugly, it's over. Hopefully the same D shows up and an Offense on a mission to prove themselves.

He said the defense played the best complete
Game they had ever played. He also said "offense
cannot continue to play the way they played
That pretty much summed it up!
Even a bad day as a Rebel is better than a good day with the dawgs!!!!

Pathetic offensive display tonight. Defense was solid as usual. Bo is not a natural QB. He has to work so hard to just make a simple play. Painful to watch. Should have destroyed Memphis tonight. Not feeling it for the Bama game. Defense will be ready. Not sure about the offense and Bo.

Besides the offense giving everybody hemorrhoids Rece davis did a good job of paying the refs. Has to be that cause I find it hard to believe the sec would allow that stupid of a ref on the field.

Edit. Change that to Chris fowler

I'm of the mind that CHF and company weren't wanting to show off too much of anything before the big game. Keep the secrets alive. JMO

I was referring to the questions asked by the reporter immediately after the game as Freeze was walking off the field.... His answers were as sugar coated as cotton candy! May have been emotions.

That's what I would have expected Freeze to say! Everyone knows it, so say it! Then hope it motivates the boys.

Maybe, but I really don't think so. My evidence:

The 4 most costly plays were Bo's fumble, his 2 gift interceptions that should have never been thrown, and the muffed punt. That's at least 20 points we gave back. Were we "hiding" that Bo really knows his to hang on to the ball when he's hit, and that he doesn't REALLY get tunnel vision with some receivers on certain plays?

Then there was the end around with Liggins at QB on a short yardage play... That's one I thought we would have "saved" for Bama or A&M.

The past two Bye weeks under Freeze's crew we've came back sloppy! Ok, not the defense this time, but we looked bad. Luckily it was only on SportsSouth, so most voters only saw the final score. We all know we have a lot of work.

I don't know why everyone wants to ignore the 800 LB gorilla in the room... our O line just sux at run blocking... period...it is the cause of our running game problems and Bo's frustration and is directly proportional to our O line coach...it is time to call a spade a spade and go find someone who can coach em up. The only success we have had is directly due to the quality of players we have been able to catch since he has been here...not any improvement has been demonstrated since he has been here. I love Matt Luke (Mr. Ole Miss Football and extraordinaire lineman throwback to yesteryear) as much as anyone... but to call him a coach is just plain sad!

Can Freeze take over and fix it? We have one of the biggest O lines in all of football (NCAA or NFL), and to be that bad is SAD.

I watched the game again today. I got a better grasp of what happened. Around 7:30 left in the first quarter Ole Miss started an impressive drive. Every play gained positive yardage. Everyone on offense was doing their job and doing it well. Then Wallace got picked off on about the 5 yard line. Memphis then moved it down the field effectively until the defense stiffened in the red zone.

Ole Miss got "punched in the mouth" and got worried. Offense looked good but came up empty. Defense looked good but gave up 3 points. Prior to those two series, Ole Miss was playing to win and win big. After them, it seemed Ole Miss was suddenly playing not to lose the game, the ranking, the Gameday visit, etc. Well, the offense was until the 4th quarter.

Win or lose, I think they ALL play their hearts out Saturday. Tough row to garden tool, but can be done. (Did that on purpose.)
